The School of Physical Education of Southwest University, formerly known as the Physical Education Department of the National Women's Normal College during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, began its research on sports as early as the beginning of its establishment in 1940, and has a history of 81 years today, which can be called the elder of the domestic sports discipline. "Diving is an extremely precise movement, and the core strength of the muscles is the most critical factor. Athletes can learn from each other countless times in the process of training, observing the game, and studying relevant research data, analyzing and summarizing how to control and use the core strength of the muscles, so that their training effect can be doubled with half the effort. Shi Tingmao's master's thesis was on the study of the core strengths of divers. Guo Liya said.
Athletes must have extremely strong psychological qualities to win the championship, and the Sports Psychology and Education Research Center of the School of Physical Education of Southwest University helps athletes establish excellent psychological qualities. "Taking Chen Lijun as an example, he reversed the other side in the case of failed grasping and lifting, relying on the psychological quality and special ability that has been improved in recent years." Guo Liya said that Li Jingwen asked each athlete to spend 3 minutes a day summarizing his training and learning, and at first Chen Lijun did not want to speak, but he stepped out of the shadows in the process of "passive" summarization and communication, and slowly established confidence in victory in training.
"Shi Tingmao, Zhao Shuai and others were just ordinary athletes when they were first admitted to Western University, and the excellent results came from their persistence and efforts over the years. We teachers also hope that in the future, we can continue to rely on this model of 'sports-education integration' to cultivate more outstanding sports talents for the country." Guo Liya said.
