Since ancient times, the ancient city of Guangzhou has been adjacent to the Pearl River. Rivers, rivers, gushing and hao are everywhere, becoming the vein that runs through the city and nourishes the lives of generations of Guangzhou people.
The wells dug by the people of Guangzhou for generations are as many as the stars in the night sky. There are more than 500 wells found on the site of the National Palace Department of South Vietnam alone. Among them, more than 100 wooden cylinders hidden in the seepage well have engraved the unknown secrets of the palace and unveiled the long-hidden history for us. The oldest surviving Yuewangjing is inscribed with moving legends and beautiful poems. Datong Smoke and Rain Well, one of the eight scenic spots of Yangcheng, has been transformed by the four dynasties of the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, and has recorded how much style.

Yue Wang Well
The oldest existing ancient well in Guangzhou is said to have been dug by Zhao Tuo, the king of Nanyue during the Western Han Dynasty, so it was named Yue WangJing. Because there are nine well holes, it is also known as the "Nine Eyes Well".
According to Qu Dajun's "Guangdong Xinyu", "Its water power is heavy and sweet, and it is the liquid of jade." Zhi zhi Tuo (Zhao Tuo) drinks Si water, the body is moist, more than 100 years old, and the audio-visual is not fading. Until the 1950s, the ancient well still nourished the nearby residents, and even now it has retreated to the Guangdong Provincial Science Museum, the clear spring still flows.
Five-Eyed Ancient Well
Located in Liwan District, Guangzhou City, Xiajiu Road Xilai Chudi Back Street, north of Minghui Building, hualin Zen Temple arch entrance, is one of the nine famous wells in Guangzhou.
According to the Qing "Panyu County Chronicle", according to legend, the five-eyed ancient well was excavated when Bodhidharma stayed in the first land of Xilai, so it is also known as "Dharma Well". The well platform covers an area of about 5 square meters, and the five wellbores are hewn from a whole large stone and arranged regularly in a star shape, so it is called "five-eye well". The structure of the well is peculiar, there is a gap between the well and the well, the water is abundant, and the water quality was excellent in the past, but it is now contaminated and cannot be directly drunk.
The miraculous and changeable Smoke and Rain Well has gone through the four dynasties of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties in the long river of history, and is now listed as one of the eight scenic spots of the old Yangcheng "Chase Smoke and Rain".
Qing Tongzhi's "Chronicle of Panyu County" says: "The smoke and rain well is in the Chase Temple, the morning xi is first dispersed, and it is often light smoke, and the so-called Chase smoke and rain is also." "It is rumored that before the wind and rain come, a large amount of smoke will emerge from the well. When the weather is clear, the sail shadow of the White Goose Pond River can be seen from the well. In the dead of night, the sound of string songs from the White Goose Pond can be faintly heard from the wellhead.
At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the People's Republic, Guangzhou's social unrest, deterioration of public security, economic depression, once a tourist attraction in Guangzhou, the decline of tourists is scarce, the ancient temple was tragically destroyed, becoming a place for bandits to live. In 1953, the Guangzhou Municipal Credit Cooperative built the Guangzhou Agricultural Products Processing Factory at the site, which was later renamed Guangzhou Fruit Food Factory and buried the smoke and rain well. Subsequently, the factory was converted into a real estate, and the smoke and rain well was able to see the light of day.
The ruins of the ancient well now inhabit the residential building, although the ancient temple is gone, the smoke and rain are no longer there, but the beautiful portrait of the smoke and sail shadow of that year is still circulating in people's hearts.
Apricot blossom well
The well was built in the fifth year of Qing Tongzhi (1866), the inscription was erected in the ninth year of Qing Tongzhi (1870), also known as "Shiquan", located in the Guangzhou Diesel Engine Factory, little known.
According to legend, Li Wentian, a flower discoverer hand-picked by Qing Xianfeng, went to Deng Lin Zhuang in the ninth year of Tongzhi (1870) to admire the apricot blossoms, and Deng Dalin used the well water in the village to make tea, and the fragrance was overflowing. Li Wentian's poetry was happy to write, and Deng Dalin built the poem on the well bar, and the inscription is still clear and recognizable.
Thinking about the scene when Li Deng drew water to cook tea and admire the apricot blossoms, it was really leisurely and comfortable in his heart.

Bamboo circle well
The materials for well-building have evolved with successive dynasties, and you can see the process of "opening the brain hole" of the ancestors, which is really interesting and colorful. In the early days, the popular bamboo circle well in Guangzhou was a well circle supported by a woven bamboo circle in the earth pit. The most elaborate thing is that according to the characteristics of bamboo leaves, it is woven with a tough skin as the warp and the inner soft layer as the weft.
According to research experts, this kind of bamboo circle well mainly existed in the two Jin And Southern Dynasties periods. Such well water is boiled up, and after layers of filtration of bamboo circles, it is contaminated with the fragrance of bamboo.
Takeshi Yanagi
There is a moving legend about Liu Yijing.
During the reign of Tang Yifeng (676-679 AD), liu Yi, a scholar, went to Beijing to apply for the examination and returned to Jingyang, where he met a shepherd girl with tears on her face. Liu Yi went forward to inquire and learned that the woman was a dragon girl of Dongting, married to Jingyang Jun, and was brutally abused by her to this point. After that, Liu Yi was entrusted by the Dragon Girl to send a letter to Junshan, find The Orange Well, and knock three times on the orange tree by the well. The sea god who guarded the gate appeared and took him into the Dragon Palace. Liu Yi saw Long Jun, handed over a letter, and complained about the suffering of the Dragon Girl. Qiantang jun, the younger brother of Long Jun, was furious and became a hundred red dragons, and went straight to Jingyang, destroyed Jingyang Jun, and took back the dragon girl. Long Jun thanked Liu Yi and recruited him as his son-in-law.
Later, in order to commemorate Liu Yi's book, the people changed the orange well to Liu Yi well, and built a Liu Yi book pavilion next to the well.
