The ancients believed in "eternal age of gold and stone", so they carved words on stones, expecting them to be passed on to future generations, and the stones engraved with words were inscriptions. China's stone inscription began to sprout from the Shang Dynasty, the name of the stele is seen in the Eastern Zhou, to the Eastern Han Huan Emperor, the Ling Emperor, the vertical stele has become the norm.
The inscription is the recorder of history, has important documentary value, and is a vivid carrier of calligraphy art. At present, there are still many well-known famous monuments in Shijiazhuang, and these famous stone carvings, whether in terms of calligraphy art or content, can be called treasures in Chinese stone carvings. Countless literati and scholars came to see him, standing in front of the monument, looking back at the past, studying the Tuoben, and copying its charm.
Today, we will first introduce the famous three-way inscription of Yuanshi County.
Fenglong Mountain Ode Monument
Yuanshi County has been rich in culture since ancient times, and the historical relics such as academy temples and grotto steles are rich, and the literati and scholars of the past generations have visited here, leaving a large number of stone inscriptions, especially the Han stele is famous in the world. According to statistics, there are seven Han monuments in Yuanshi County, namely the "Three Gong Mountain Stele", "The Three Gong Yu Yu Shan Divine Stele", "Fenglong Mountain Song Stele", "Sangong Mountain Stele", "Wuji Mountain Stele", "Badu Temple Stele" and "Baishi Shenjun Stele".
Among them, the "Fenglong Mountain Ode Monument" is majestic and vigorous, and is praised by the calligrapher Yang Shoujing: "Han Li's boldness is no more than this." On the use of the pen, the lines of this stele are round and solid, the pen is vigorous, the three-dimensional sense is strong, and there is a seal pen meaning; from the perspective of the knot body, this stele is broad and majestic, the weather is grand, and the magnificence is solemn.
The "Ode to Fenglong Mountain" was published in the seventh year of the Eastern Han Dynasty, with 15 lines of inscriptions, 26 characters per line, and records the worship of Changshan Xiang Cai, Changshi Mucheng and other cultivators to fenglongshan in order to seek national prosperity and prosperity.
Agricultural production in the Han Dynasty was affected by the weather, and the abundance of rainfall directly affected the harvest of agriculture. People believe that the right to flourish and rain is in the hands of the gods of the famous mountains and rivers, and only by regularly sacrificing these gods of mountains and rivers can they obtain enough rain and harvest agriculture. Therefore, local officials will worship the gods of mountains and rivers according to the age. Changshan Guoxiang Cai Ye and others sacrificed their praises and erected the "Ode to Fenglong Mountain" stele, also hoping that the gods of Fenglong Mountain could steam the clouds and rain, and cooperate with the gods of Sangong Mountain and the gods of Lingshan.
More than 1600 years after standing silently, during the Light Years of the Qing Dynasty, Liu Baonan, a hermenist who was then in Yuanshizhi County, discovered the "Ode to fenglong mountain" stele, but unfortunately, during the migration process, the stele was damaged, and its whereabouts are unknown, but its surviving Tuoben is still a classic stele for people to learn Lishu.
Nowadays, the stele of "Ode to Fenglong Mountain" has been restored and re-erected by contemporaries in the same proportion of rubbings, and is stored in the Shuanglong Temple of Fenglong Mountain of the Yuan Dynasty.
Shiraishi God Monument
In the West Stone Hall on the mountainside of Fenglong Mountain, two blue-blue stone tablets are lined up. After thousands of years of wind and rain, they are all mottled and scattered, covered with old traces, but more full of charm.
Compared with the "Monument of the Three Gong mountains of Qi", the "Monument of the White Stone God King" is more well preserved, the head of the stele and the stele body are a whole piece of bluestone, the five characters of the inscription "White Stone God King Stele" are clear and undamaged, and the stele is engraved with a double forked leg Qinglong pattern, which is simple and lively, and has quite an atmospheric beauty. This stele is square, the glyph is slightly longer, the pen is clear, and the waves are obvious, which belongs to the rigorous and tidy way.
The "Monument to the White Stone God" was erected for the worship of mountain gods. During the reign of Emperor Guang of the Han Dynasty, the local people already believed that the gods living in Baishi Mountain were of extraordinary ability, "good deeds and rain, and prayers and responses". In order to praise the merits of the White Stone God King, Changshan Xiang Feng Tour and Yuan Shi Ling Wang Yi led a group of officials to make a beautiful white stone god king monument.
"Rock rock white stone, Junji Taiqing, Haohao quality, because of the body as the name..." is the inscription of the four words of ancient poems praising the white stone god king. The beautiful and cheerful language and natural and fluent writing vividly present the majestic image of the god of Baishi Mountain.
Monument to the Three Gong Mountains
The "Monument to the Three Gong Mountains of Qi", which is placed side by side with the "Monument of the White Stone God King", is clearly visible, and its calligraphy style is ancient and clumsy, and it is admirable.
"Qisangong Mountain Stele", erected in the fourth year of the early Eastern Han Dynasty (117 AD), for the remote worship of the god of Sangong Mountain, the stele is 150 cm high, 96 cm wide, the font is a combination of seals, and the full text is 187 characters. The inscription mainly tells that in the fourth year of the first year of the Han Dynasty, after the arrival of Feng Jun, the minister of Changshan County, led the people to pray for rain and drought, and obtained a good harvest, so he built a temple here and raised an altar, worshiped the three gods of the three gong mountains, and erected a monument to record it.
The inscription and rubbing the seal are unique in the Han stele, reflecting the transformation process of the officially recognized book style from the seal book to the Lishu in the Eastern Han Dynasty, and is in the transition period of "regularization and formalization" of the Lishu to the final perfection, which has important research value for the history of the development of calligraphy.
Wu Changshuo Festival Pro "Monument to the Three Gong Mountains"
Because of its perfect preservation, numerous texts and large volume, this stele is a model for many Jinshi calligraphers to copy and study and enter the French seal carving since the Qing Dynasty. Wu Changshuo, Zhang Zuyi, Qi Baishi, Pan Tianshou and other famous calligraphers and seal engravers who borrowed from the "Monument to the Three Gong mountains of Qi" were most influenced by Qi Baishi's artistic path and became the masters of inheriting his style.
