This is a miniature "art museum" opened in the activity room of the neighborhood committee, and the works are from students of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University. On the morning of October 30th, the series of activities of "Aesthetic Education into the Community" jointly organized by Siping Road Street and graduate students of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University were carried out in Tongji Luyuan Community, Yangpu District.
"The students of the School of Urban Planning are different from the students of traditional fine arts, and their works are more related to space, architecture and living objects." Fang Qin, deputy secretary of the student party committee of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University, told reporters that after entering the College of Urban Planning, students must first go through a one-year general art course, and these works come from the creation of the course.
The art exhibition is divided into two parts, in the "Simulating Actual Objects" section, students observe under a magnifying glass, from a perspective that people have never seen before. Starfish, shells, loofahs... Works close to life make residents feel that art creation is so close to themselves. In the "Centennial of Bauhaus Design" section, students pay tribute to Bauhaus design and integrate academic understanding into traditional space decoration, which broadens the horizons of residents.
"Interpreting a work is a process of communication. Allowing students and teachers to bring works to communicate with residents can make teachers and students better understand the actual needs of residents and understand the community; on the other hand, allowing residents to participate in creation also cultivates the aesthetic ability of community residents and their feelings for the community. Fang Qin said.
Inside the "Art Museum", a fluid painting creation class is underway, and children and students from the Landscape Department of the Urban Planning College are immersed in colorful colors. Fluid painting, which uses a kind of incompatible pigment, is mixed and poured on the oil painting board, improvising the collision of colors and patterns, and the work has a unique contingency.
"It's amazing that paint can paint when it flows on the canvas!" 6-year-old Xiao'an has never been trained in painting, and under the guidance of Tongji teacher, she created a fluid painting with The Kusama Yayoi style on the spot. In the next two weeks, her work with other children will be displayed in the "art gallery".
Moving the "art museum" into the neighborhood committee is the first attempt of Tongji City Planning Institute in Yangpu. Du Juan, secretary of the Party Working Committee of Siping Road Subdistrict, said: "In the future, such art exhibitions will be extended to other spaces in Siping."
As one of the main exhibition venues of the 2021 Shanghai Urban Air Art Season, Siping Road Street has created a "15-minute community life circle" according to local conditions, presenting the creativity of integrating "life + art" into the renewal of community space.
