In the clear blue sky, Knowing was shouting tirelessly, an old man in a light blue short-sleeved shirt and linen gray suit pants broke into our field of vision, the old man's sideburns were slightly white, his brows were staring ahead, and his forehead was steamed by the hot July sun to bake a thin layer of sweat. After a while, a group of people came towards him, and the old man waved at them vigorously, revealing a bright smile...
"Elder Yao, on such a hot day, you don't have to come down and wait for us!" The leader of the search for relatives worked three steps and made two steps forward to hold the old man's hand tightly, "All the way, you have worked hard, thank you!" Thank you for remembering my dad! The old man clenched back tightly, and a ripple appeared in the corner of his eye... The old man in front of him, named Yao Yong, was the only son of Yao Bin, a martyr of the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Company, 3rd Battalion, 335th Regiment, 112th Division, 112th Division, 38th Army, Chinese Volunteer Army.
Heroic Martyrdom for the Country The motherland will never forget
In 2021, the Guangxi Department of Veterans Affairs held the activity of "helping 100 martyrs' families find the burial places of martyrs and finding relatives for 100 Guangxi martyrs buried in three northeastern provinces and other places". After receiving simple clues such as names, places of origin, troop information, and places of sacrifice in the district office, the Nandan County Veterans Affairs Bureau attached great importance to them, made arrangements at the first time, and through consulting historical materials and archives of veterans in the territory, went to the martyrs' places of origin to visit the local people to look for relevant clues, and finally successfully found his only son, Yao Yong, the martyr of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. Leaders and staff members of the Autonomous Region Veterans Affairs Department, the Guangxi Association for the Promotion of the Cause of Heroic Martyrs, the Hechi City Veterans Affairs Bureau, and the Nandan County Veterans Affairs Bureau went to Jinchengjiang to pay tribute to the families of the martyrs.

It is difficult to sacrifice one's body to go to the country and see death as if it were a sudden return
At dawn on November 30, 1950, Yao Bin followed the 335th Regiment of the 112th Division of the 38th Army of the Chinese Volunteer Army to pursue the Fleeing American Troops in the south, and rushed all the way to the area of Songkuo Peak. In order to buy time for the large troops to encircle, Yao Bin's battalion and three companies were ordered to seize the nameless heights on the north side of Songkuo Peak and intercept them. At 6:30 a.m., they crushed the enemy's small army of sharp soldiers, climbed up the bare mountain bag, and without building fortifications, had a "face-to-face" with the troops of the US Second Division, and the enemy's black-pressed cars, tanks and infantry swarmed. In order to maximize the savings in weapons expenditure, the machine gun shooters, bazooka shooters and demolition groups of the three companies launched a fierce attack on the enemy when the enemy car approached the front of the position... Suddenly, dozens of cars and tanks burned on the highway, hundreds of cars were crowded together, and American soldiers jumped out of cars and ran around.
Unwilling to be defeated, the U.S. army once again gathered a large number of troops and weapons in the following hours, and sent more than 400 troops to attack the second and third platoon positions in two ways at the same time. The Pine Bone Peak battlefield was burned by shells, petrol bombs and incendiary bombs. While fighting the flames on their bodies, the warriors used the shell craters to fortify and fight the enemy to the death. When the warriors ran out of bullets, they picked up their bayonets at their feet and engaged the enemy in hand-to-hand combat. One of the volunteer soldiers even pulled out the last grenade on his body and died with the six or seven enemies who surrounded him... After the battle, a battalion commander led the soldiers to clean up the battlefield and collect the remains of the martyrs. He saw it on the three-company position: "The guns were completely broken, and the machine gun parts were thrown all over the mountain." The bodies of the martyrs retained a variety of postures, some holding the enemy's waist, some holding the enemy's head, some grabbing the enemy's neck and throwing the enemy to the ground, and some falling together with the enemy and burning together..." The officers and men of the three companies successfully blocked the enemy for more than ten hours with the strength of a hundred people, under the condition that equipment was scarce and there was no danger to defend, and successfully completed the sniper task, winning plenty of time for the large troops to encircle. The casualties of Song Bone Peak were huge, only 7 people survived in the whole company, and countless heroic souls and loyal bones were forever sleeping in a foreign country.
The mountains and rivers are unharmed, and the hero please return home
Talking about his father, Yao Yong did not have any memory. When his father went to the DPRK, Yao Yong was not yet three years old, and his impression of his father was also learned little by little from the mouths of his grandmother and mother when he grew up. In Yao Yong's home, there was a polished iron box standing quietly in the bookcase, and after many years, he could not see the patterns and words on the iron box clearly, and Elder Yao told us that this was the most precious thing in the Yao family.
Elder Yao Yong introduced his family situation to the working group
Opening the iron box, a series of old yellowed documents jumped into view, which were all obituary, martyr certificate and martyr certificate received when his father Yao Bin died. The slightly yellowed document records: "Comrade Yao Bin has been in the army for many years, turned to the country, experienced hardships, and has not slackened his desire to serve the people. After the liberation of our mainland, when the people were devoting themselves to national construction, the murderous US imperialists resumed their military aggression and invaded Korea, endangering the motherland! Comrade Yao Bin saw this, but he resolutely volunteered to go to the DPRK, fought with the whole army in the ice and snow, under the fire of the enemy's aircraft, saved his neighbors from dangerous eggs, and saved the motherland from water and fire! Repeatedly defeated the enemy front, and built meritorious deeds. Unfortunate to die on the battlefield! "Mr. Wang endured sorrow and mourning, the martyrs' merits went down in history, and the heroic souls will always exist in the world..." In a few words, the scene of the sons and daughters of Yang yang In those years, they were not afraid of hardships and dangers, they were not afraid of sacrifice, and the scene of resisting the enemy outside the gate of the country jumped on the paper.
Yao Yong, a martyr, provided the working group with proof of his father's sacrifice that year
Proof of martyrdom
Chinese obituary written by the head of the People's Volunteer Army to Yang Yun'e, the wife of Yao Bin martyr
"I am particularly pleased that in the rare years of ancient times, there are still people who can remember my father, remember the sacrifices he made, and thank the Department of Veterans Affairs, so that the dedication of martyrs will not be forgotten by history." Elder Yao gently touched his father's obituary and revealed a peaceful and happy smile. When the epidemic passes, Yao Yong will be able to go to North Korea to pay tribute to his father, and he has waited for 71 years for the "reunion" at this moment!
