(hereinafter referred to as "China Southern Airlines") issued an announcement disclosing that the company hired Yao Yong as the company's deputy general manager, chief accountant and financial director. Xiao Lixin, former deputy general manager, chief accountant and financial director of China Southern Airlines, resigned in October 2020.

According to public information, Yao Yong was born in November 1969 and graduated from the Department of National Economic Management of Sichuan University with a major in National Economic Management, and is a senior accountant, senior auditor and chartered certified accountant (ACCA). He once served as a section member of the Capital Construction Audit Department of the Sichuan Provincial Audit Bureau, the director of the financial management department of The Ertan Hydropower Development Co., Ltd., and the director of the finance department of the State Development and Investment Corporation. Since March 2021, he has served as the chief accountant and member of the party group of China Southern Airlines Group Co., Ltd.

According to the 2020 annual report, China Southern Airlines had 3 senior executives leave last year, of which Wang Changshun, the former chairman and executive director of the company, left due to retirement; due to job changes, Xiao Lixin, the former deputy general manager, chief accountant and financial director of the company, and Guo Jianye, the service director, left the company successively. In addition, China Southern Airlines hired a total of 3 senior executives in 2020, including Ma Xulun, chairman of the company, Wu Yingxiang, deputy general manager of the company, and Zhu Hailong, director of the company's operation.

In 2020, due to the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, aviation demand fell sharply, with the net profit of China Southern Airlines falling by 508.98% year-on-year to -10.842 billion yuan, and the operating income falling by 40.02% year-on-year to 92.561 billion yuan.
