For windows insiders who have upgraded to Windows 11, Microsoft will release a less stable and more experimental version for Dev Channel users. However, the new features in these tests no longer specify a feature update, so they won't be released later this year.
For those members of the WindowsInsider project who expect more stability, Microsoft recommends that users switch to the Beta channel. But HTNovo reports that this seems impossible for many. Many Insiders report that they can't switch from dev channels to beta channels because these options are grayed out in Windows Update settings.
The old registry trick of switching channels doesn't seem to work either, and while you can switch out of Dev channels, you end up in Release Preview instead of the Beta channel. There doesn't seem to be a solution to this problem at the moment, and you can quickly close the switch window.
