Life has no limits, always meet the wider sky

Introduction: From the campus to the law firm, what changes is the environment, and what does not change is the enthusiasm for the law. This article is the author's impressions written on the occasion of graduating from the China University of Political Science and Law, and the romance in casual nature is both a cherishing of life and the pursuit of the rule of law. "Life has no limits, always meet the broader sky", perhaps, this is also the common dream of all legal people!

Life has no limits, always meet the wider sky

Mr. Guan Jiangping's "Rule of Law World" monument

Author: Nan Kai

Yan Zhao had a son, and Ti Meng asked the capital.

Xiaoyue is divided into north and south, and the army is fighting in the west and east.

The rule of law is all over the world, and moral education is transformed into life.

Look down at the autumn leaves, and take a spring breeze in front of the monument.

Life has no limits, always meet the wider sky

A poem i wrote when I first entered the University of Law, and now I read it with a lot of thoughts. Although the fragments in my mind are quite fragmented, I still have to write it, and I can also give a response to the small poem three years ago.

1. In the eyes of every person, every nation, and every country, the world is different. Therefore, learn to respect the values of others.

At the beginning of my enrollment, I took Sun Guozhu's "Religion and Culture", which was also one of the courses that had the greatest impact on me. In one class, an observer teacher whose name I could not remember once shared: "In the eyes of every person, every nation, and every country, the world is different." This sentence was deeply imprinted in my mind from that moment, and then, I often consciously understood the way others thought and way of life, and gradually accepted these different values, and even fell in love with this differentiated world, although some views may not be "in line with my appetite." The understanding and respect for different values is not only out of courtesy, but also means that a person can step out of his closed inner world and face a more open space.

As the mentor wrote: "Never divide, understand, or treat different people by class, gender, race, nationality, religion, political affiliation, or sexual orientation, and those columns and labels will not help you understand others or yourself." "Any culture, any kind of value, has its own unique way of formation and social value, and it is always in a constantly changing state, so it is necessary to use an open mind to accommodate and use dynamic thinking to examine."

2, I only have 22 hours a day, because I have to fix an hour to read and an hour to exercise.

I don't remember which philosophical master said that he only had 21 hours a day, because every day he had to spend 3 hours of time alone, to think, to talk to life, which is the quality of a great philosopher, and it is also a way of life worth learning from many people. It follows from this that the so-called truth that man has 24 hours a day is sometimes not necessarily correct from a philosophical point of view.

In order to get closer to the sages, I only have 22 hours a day, because I have to set aside an hour to read and an hour to exercise. Of course, the reading time and exercise time here may not be strictly integrated, for example, if you exercise for two hours on a certain day, you will not exercise vigorously the next day, and if you read for a long time on a certain day, you can do something else the next day. But in general, I have always kept this principle in mind, and it has constantly reminded me of "civilized spirit, barbaric body".

Life has no limits, always meet the wider sky

3, do first-class small things, become a pint adult.

This is also a sentence I wrote in the graduation book.

I once read an article by Mr. Ji Xianlin called "Merchants and Buddhism". This article is definitely a fine of the best, but what shocked me most about this article was not how advanced its conclusions and arguments were, but Mr. Ji Lao's patient collation of the literature. The method of writing the article is very simple, Mr. Ji Xianlin from the five angles of "general contact and exchanges", "traveling together", "adultery, smuggling and tax evasion", "merchants support Buddhas and monks", "Buddhist precepts forbid monks to catch gold and silver, do business, and compete with merchants for profit", and the arguments used are the original records of the relationship between Buddhist monks and merchants in a large number of Chinese translations of Buddhist texts. It can be said that every student can do this kind of literature collation, but the reality is that very few students, including myself, are willing to give time and energy to do such a thing. I also blame myself for this. It can be seen that behind a generation of academic masters is the accumulation of countless details.

Some time ago, I finished reading "Liang Qichao's Family Letter", a family letter that people have gradually forgotten. Mr. Liang Qichao's tutor rarely sees any lofty patriotic education and ideal education, but often nags with his children about various small things. The so-called "standing up must be thick" is vividly reflected here, and perhaps it is precisely this spirit of "doing first-class small things" that has achieved "standing up must be thick", and only then has Mr. Ji Xianlin and Mr. Liang Qichao's "becoming a product of adults". We need too much reflection!

4, to have a pair of eyes to discover life.

Last year, Hua Yanyue Reading Award Ceremony, I was honored to be invited by teacher Lei Xiaoli to deliver the award speech "Life and Spirituality". I like the works of Mr. Wang Zengqi, Mr. Wang Zengqi's life is full of spirituality, and the essence of this spirituality lies in detachment, which is a state of mind that accompanies the grass and trees of the world. At that time, Teacher Xue Xiaojian was also present, and she was very satisfied with my acceptance speech, and inadvertently commented that "you have a pair of eyes that discover life." I froze at this sentence, and until now I didn't fully know how Teacher Xue's words should be understood. What is "life"? What is "discovering the gaze of life"? Maybe it can only be understood and ineffable. But what is clear is that many of us don't seem to be "living", but only "living" in various labels. We always buried our heads and hurried forward, afraid that we would miss something on the road ahead, but we did not know that we had missed too much while we were in a hurry.

Life, perhaps, should be Wang Zengqi's "grass and trees on earth", "travel food life", "gaoyou's salted eggs", or perhaps Mr. Wang Shixiang's "playthings do not lose their minds" and "the world is insightful and learned", or it may be the burly men's "wine every confidant a thousand cups less" and "how many unhappy things in the heart, turned into a sentence of 'take wine'" free pleasure. Even if we can't live our favorite way, please don't live the way we hate it the most.

Life has no limits, always meet the wider sky

5, have an international perspective, is not just to learn a few foreign languages so simple.

As a student at the Institute of Comparative Law, I am ashamed of this. In a letter to his classmates, Mr. Wang Chang encouraged us to learn foreign languages well, of course, not only English, but also multilingual. "The world of any of these languages is a parallel universe. When you think and logic in another language, you enter a completely different world. "Without basic foreign language skills, let alone an international perspective, but without cross-cultural thinking, communication and empathy, even if the foreign language ability is outstanding, it is not considered to have an international vision or an international mind."

The teacher often eats with the disciples, and we can order whatever we want, but the only requirement is "no waste", and we can take it away when we can't finish eating. Of course, this is a traditional virtue of the Chinese nation, but Teacher Wang's "not waste" is not only for this reason, but "another mystery", and last year I also seemed to crack Teacher Wang's secret. At a lunch last year, we accidentally ordered too much, and after lunch, the teacher asked us to go to the front desk to find a few more packed lunch boxes: "We can't waste it, the African brothers are still hungry!" "I'm surprised by this, at least at my current level, whether it's being thrifty or encouraging my friends to save, I definitely don't have this awareness." By the same token, I read in another online article that a wealthy international journalist, after a few months of interviewing in refugee areas in Africa, changed his habit of wasting food in a big way, because every time he looked at the uneaten meal on the table, he couldn't help but think of his skinny African friends.

6. The task of law students is not to read legal masterpieces, but to read more masterpieces of other disciplines, and then come back to write legal masterpieces.

For this sentence, of course, we must appreciate its spirit. I clearly remember that at the teacher-student meeting three years ago, Teacher Lin Lin encouraged us to read more books, and we must read more books outside the discipline of law, and I kept Teacher Lin's guidance in mind. Most of the students of the University of Law have no problem in terms of basic legal literacy and legal knowledge, and in the campus of the University of Law, even if they do not study, they can always be smoked with some legal flavor. However, the more in professional colleges and universities such as the University of Law, students' horizons are often limited by their majors, which is also a common problem faced by professional colleges and universities in student education, which can be described as "one advantage must have one disadvantage". Therefore, law students must strive to read some famous works in other fields, explore some other disciplines, and not be bound by the utilitarian nature of law in real life. It is not necessary to be proficient in all disciplines, but at least to take a walk in their world and see how they are similar and different from jurisprudence. More importantly, it is necessary to establish their own humanistic care. This is extremely important for jurists.

7. The significance of going to college is not only to establish a concept of right and wrong, but more importantly, to abandon the absolute concept of right and wrong.

We've seen and thought too much about the meaning of college. In such a process, it is easy to establish our concept of right and wrong, know honor and shame, and know what should be done and what should not be done. But what is more important than establishing a concept of right and wrong should be to abandon the absolute view of right and wrong. Hegel once commented on Confucius, saying that "Confucius was an actual worldly wise man, and in him there were only some good, sophisticated, moral admonitions, and we could not obtain anything other than that." At first I was puzzled and slightly dissatisfied with Hegel's passage, but slowly I no longer simply evaluated whether Hegel's passage was right or wrong, but thought about why Hegel came to such a conclusion and why the Confucius in our eyes is so different from the Confucius in Hegel's eyes.

I think that's what college means to me, and it's also the way of thinking that I tried to think about and adapt to during my three years as a graduate student at the University of Law. This way of thinking is not only true for universities, but also for all aspects of our daily lives. We should have a basic view of right and wrong, but we cannot fall into an absolute view of right and wrong, and no one is an absolute wise person, and no one has the right to set the yardstick for the evaluation of other people's ideas. Therefore, do not easily evaluate the attitude and conclusion of others, but think more about how this attitude or conclusion is obtained.

8. Please don't skimp on praise and thanks. Thanks to every teacher and friend who has helped me, your "raising your hand" and "inadvertently planting willows" are a great asset to me.

This article was condensed with the help of every teacher and friend, and I am very grateful to you, your "raising your hand" and "inadvertently planting willows" are my great wealth and motivation for me to continue to help others as much as I can.

Between me and Teacher Wang Chang, there has never been a tension and estrangement between the legendary tutor and the student, the tutor has too much guidance to me, most of my three years of luck come from this; since entering the school, Teacher Liu Chengyun has written no less than five letters of recommendation for me, and every request is "no problem, see you later"; Teacher Sun Haibo's academic experience has always inspired me, but unfortunately, the graduation wine agreed with Teacher Sun was stolen by the epidemic; the professor's luncheon that I inadvertently attended. I had the opportunity to communicate with Teacher Xu Shengjian, and I was very benefited by Mr. Xu's encouragement to respect teachers and re-teach; I had the honor to join Mr. Chen Xinyu's scientific research team, learned too many ancestors and masters in Tsinghua Garden, and also gave me a deeper understanding of the meaning of studying; Teacher Sun Guodong's article "My Lonely Journey to the End of the World" inspired me to think that "in addition to death, nothing can set limits for life"; Teacher Zhang Yongran and Teacher An Shuo gave me the heavy responsibility of being responsible for "Public Spirit" magazine. During this period, my writing ability and communication ability have been greatly improved; thanks to Teacher Jiang Lili, I have not given up, taking me as a layman in commercial arbitration to participate in many arbitration-related academic activities, and the day and night of working with Mr. Xue Tong, Mr. Zhang Wen, and The Director Teacher to fight for the research data is really tense and interesting, and the lawyers Chen Bo and Wang Zhengzhi who I met during the research process let me see the struggle and dedication of the lawyers, and they made me very admirable; Teacher Lu Shaohua, Teacher Li Huan, Teacher Zhang Xueying and Teacher Ma Jiao of the Alumni Office. In the study and work have given me too much help, I also have the opportunity to contact a lot of outstanding alumni, they let the spirit of the University of Law bloom in all walks of life; I always consciously let myself participate in a certain editing work, doing book editing work is easier to produce a sense of communication with the author than reading itself, Master Ma Xu, Tang Dynasty sister, Ai Wenting sister and other editorial department brothers and sisters to provide me with a lot of points, after leaving I often ask them for advice Brother Hu Yu's goal of traveling the world through the marathon has given me great inspiration, in the past year has participated in a number of half marathons, due to the epidemic has not dispersed, my first full Horse has not yet been able to achieve my wishes; and on weekdays, the teachers of the hospital office are the most disturbed, Teacher Yang Mingquan, Teacher Liu Ming, Teacher Li Li, Teacher Yan Jingjing, Teacher Sun Yang have paid a lot for me and the lives of my classmates, and their efforts have made our studies more smooth!

There are too many teachers I want to thank, and there are too many students I want to thank, every teacher and classmate has too many places worth learning, and every exchange is a rare learning process. The ancients could become a teacher with every word, and every communication we had was more than just one word, a hundred words, and ten thousand words! Three years is a short time, but three years to learn, a lot of things.

Wherever the text goes, there is no end.

"Life has no limits, always meet the wider sky!" That's the last thing I want to say!
