At about 2 p.m. on October 30, in the hall on the first floor of the Yuecheng Shopping Center on Zhengbei Road in Zhengzhou, more than 20 contestants from all over the country were busy taking care of their pets. These little darlings who are about to appear on the stage do not seem to be nervous at all about the competition, some are sleeping in the insulated cage, some are nibbling on hay without anyone, and some are lying there curiously looking, as if the event has nothing to do with them, and the cute and cute appearance makes the citizens can't help but take pictures.
According to Ms. Duan Jinming of the Organizer Pet Club (CLPA), this pet competition is the first in the country and has attracted many pet lovers from all over the country to participate. Due to the impact of the new crown epidemic control and the requirements of relevant departments, only three types of pets were opened, namely guinea pigs, maned lions and rabbits, and strict restrictions were also made on the number of participants, so many foreign participants could not come. Pet competitions such as toy snakes, hamsters, and chipmunks can only be pushed to the next edition.
At 4 p.m. yesterday, the Pet Championship (Zhengzhou Station) officially kicked off. The referee of the mane lion lizard at the competition site is Li Yayan, secretary general of CLPA, the referee of guinea pigs is Wu Shuai, president of CLPA, and the chief referee of the Dutch eared rabbit is Ms. Huang Lin. It is understood that these three referees are senior breeders, with rich experience and breeding experience, and have long been committed to the promotion of pure blood pets, and enjoy a high reputation in the small pet circle.
According to international practice, the competition is divided into three stages, the participants bring their pets to the stage in turn, and the judges will judge them, and the referee will make comprehensive scores according to the blood, coat color, form, mental state and other aspects of the participating pets. During the competition, many citizens watched these cute little pets up close, especially some children, and they couldn't help but touch them with their hands. The chief magistrate said that these pets were all improved and bred and would not attack people. Like the maned lion lizard, the Dutch guinea pig, the Dutch eared rabbit, etc., are fed safe and nutritious special rations.
A Dutch rabbit breeder said that the rabbit does not eat radish greens like ordinary rabbits, etc., and their staple food is Timothy grass with rich crude fiber, which is convenient for intestinal peristalsis and teeth grinding, supplemented by rabbit food.
Some children see that the Dutch guinea pig is similar to the common ordinary mouse, some are afraid, do not dare to easily approach, after listening to the introduction of the breeding people, they boldly went forward to observe closely, and found that there is indeed a difference between the two.
After three rounds of fierce competition, a frost-white Thai 2-year-old male rabbit "Dolphin", raised by Zhengzhou Breeding People, won the title of Dutch Ear rabbit champion, and the owner of this Dutch Ear Rabbit spent 8,000 yuan to introduce it. The first place in the guinea pig class was won by a (silver) hairless guinea pig, and the first three of the first three people who won the maned lion lizard were all included by Zhengzhou players.
Duan Jinming, the person in charge of the competition, said that the purpose of holding the Pet Championship is to give everyone more extensive access to these pets that can interact with us humans, which is the first domestic event after the establishment of the Zhengzhou Pet Club (CLPA) on June 4 this year.
