On December 21, the launching ceremony of the "2021 Baoding Spring Festival Gala for middle-aged and elderly people" was jointly held by Baoding Community Education College, Baoding Radio and Television Station, Lemanjia Club and National Literacy Improvement Alliance, which also marked the full launch of the preparatory work for the party.
It is understood that this Spring Festival Gala will take "carrying forward the Chinese nation's culture of respecting the elderly and showing the colorful life of middle-aged and elderly people" as the main purpose, focusing on displaying the talents and positive and healthy spiritual outlook of the vast number of middle-aged and elderly friends in Baoding City, and passing on the concept of "actively coping with aging and healthy aging" to the whole society.
At the launching ceremony, Zhao Guohua, vice president of Baoding Community Education College, delivered a speech. She said that the Spring Festival Gala was held to deeply implement the Fifth Plenary Session of the Nineteenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the implementation of the national strategy of actively responding to the aging of the population and the decision-making and deployment of Baoding City to accelerate the construction of a new era of cultural Baoding, to build a stage for the city's middle-aged and elderly friends to display their talents, and to fully display their spiritual outlook of learning, doing something for the old and having fun in the old.

According to reports, the selection of this Spring Festival Gala program will go through three links: primary selection, re-selection and Spring Festival Gala. The primary election will officially begin on December 28, 2020, the re-election will be held on January 17, 2021 at the Baoding Grand Theatre, and the official performance of the Spring Festival Gala will be recorded at the Baoding Grand Theatre on January 30, 2021.
