Original Zhizang Master Dangyang Yuquan Temple yesterday

At this moment, we look up at the starry sky, and one of the stars in the sky is named after a line of Zen masters from the Yuquan Temple of the Tang Dynasty, which is a tribute to him in this way in order to commemorate and praise his inspiration and contribution to mankind. A line of Zen masters, he is one of the greatest scientists in the history of Buddhism, there is no one; he is the greatest monk in the history of human science and technology, there is no one.
He was a scientist who had not been delayed by the monastic profession, and he was also a monk who had not been delayed by the scientific profession.
Zen master common name Zhang Sui, born more than 1,300 years ago in the Tang Dynasty, 683 AD, when he was a teenager, he was very intelligent, and when he was 21 years old, a famous Taoist man in the capital, Yin Chong, gave him a copy of the "Tai xuan jing" written by Yang Xiong of the Western Han Dynasty, this obscure book, which was quickly read by the young Zhang Sui, and then wrote two books dedicated to who looks at who is big, "Tai Yan Xuan Tu" and "Yi Ti". This surprised Yin Chong, and also amazed the people of the world at that time. At that time, Wu Zetian's nephew was called Wu Sansi, and later the power fell to the opposition, took a fancy to Zhang Sui's talent, wanted to make friends, Zhang Sui flashed, found a very old excuse, but also in order to repay the parents who died prematurely, he became a monk, and his legal name was a line. Power and the political arena are the aspirations of many talented people. The difference between the line of Zen masters is that they have long seen through the rolling red dust of these worlds. He first learned Zen at Mount Song and the Zen master Pu Shu, during which Emperor Tang Ruizong asked him to come out of the mountain, and he flashed again. After having a lot of zen experience, he went to Yuquan Temple in Dangyang, Hubei Province, and learned Sanskrit and precepts from Hongjing Zen masters and Suzhen Zen masters. People like a line of Zen masters are really not like the people in our world, more like people who have crossed over, learned what to do, learned the precepts, and authored ten volumes of "Regent Fuzang". After learning Sanskrit, he participated in the translation of the scriptures. The Chronicle of the Buddha says that Yixing learned tang tantra from the three Brahmin monks who were known as the three great masters of Kaiyuan at that time, Vajrayogini, Shan Fearless, and Bukong, and participated in the translation of the Tang Tantric classic "Great Nikkei", and the second year after the translation, the twelfth year of Kaiyuan (724), was written as "Da Nikkei Shu", this book is a line of Zen masters asking Shan Fearless to explain the meaning of the "Great Nikkei", which was recorded and organized by one line. The group also learned the Draupadi Seal from Vajrayogini. In the eleventh year of the new century (723), Vajrayogini organized the translation of the Yoga Recitation And the Seven Noble Sutras, all of which were written in one line. Please do not empty for the empowerment. It is believed that at that time, in the Yuquan Temple, and even in the whole world, few people understood the inner world of this genius Zen master. At least we know now that zen masters knew a secret at the time, but no one could believe it when it was said.
Zen masters know that the earth is round. In that era, people generally held the idea of the round place, go to the ball, how can this flat earth be a ball? We can also believe that the Zen master knows that the earth is a ball, but also knows that the moon is also a ball, the sun is also a ball, and the planets are all balls. In addition to these secrets, he must have known many other secrets, so he was an absolutely lonely man, and in that world at that time, it was difficult for anyone to understand him, and he could not have a confidant. He was familiar with the things of Buddhism, and he was also familiar with the things of science. It is conceivable that he was carrying a lot of secrets that humans did not know and could not tell to prepare to die at the Yuquan Temple, but Tang Xuanzong remembered him, and this emperor was more scheming, did not directly order him to come, afraid that he would run, he ordered his uncle to forcibly get him out. After all, the Zen master's second look at the broken, but also eat the fireworks of the world, not good to involve the uncle, had to leave the temple to come to Chang'an. Before leaving, he told the monk about his many helplessnesses. In Chang'an, Kyoto, the calendar that was commonly used in society at that time was gradually inaccurate over time, and there was an urgent need to formulate a new calendar. A group of Zen masters presided over this work. It was a very brain-burning thing, he involved astronomy, mathematics, physics and other scientific experiences, observations and ideas, in the Tang Dynasty more than 1,300 years ago, it was difficult to find any other word to describe it except the word "pioneer".
After patient and meticulous calculation, observation, and measurement, a line of Zen masters formulated the "Great Yan Calendar", which is how cattle, it developed the concept of precession of predecessors, creatively proposed the method of calculating food points, discovered the formula of unequal spacing quadratic interpolation, the new formula of summing quadratic equations, and applied the ancient "Qi Tong Shu" (the law of common division) to calendar calculation. In the seventeenth year of the new century (729 AD), the Great Yan Calendar was promulgated and implemented, and it has been used for 800 years. It has been verified that the "Great Yan Calendar" is much more precise and accurate than other calendars that existed at that time, such as Zu Chongzhi's "Daming Calendar", Liu Zhuo's "Imperial Pole Calendar", and Li Chunfeng's "Linde Calendar". As the most advanced calendar in the world at that time, the "Great Yan Calendar" was successively introduced to Japan and India, and it was also used in these two countries for nearly a hundred years, which greatly affected the calendars of these two countries. A group of Zen masters also presided over one of the largest scientific surveys in ancient China, stretching from Hanoi in present-day Vietnam to Lake Baikal in the north. How could such a man, in ancient times thirteen hundred years ago, have anyone understood him and become a confidant with him?
From the data point of view, he only has a real good partner, called Liang Lingzhan, this is also a strange person, he led the government soldiers cao to join the army, this is a logistics work similar to the modern government, it is a high-ranking civil servant, the civil servant did not delay him to become a famous painter, nor did he delay him to become an amateur astronomer, more importantly, he was also a proper and famous mechanical engineer. The geniuses immediately collided and cremated, and under the leadership of a line of Zen masters, an instrument for observing astronomy was made, the zodiacal travel instrument. When a group of Zen masters used this instrument to measure the latitude and longitude of the stars, they first discovered the phenomenon of stellar autonomy in the world, that is, the discovery of the motion of stars, which is about a thousand years before the same discovery in Europe; these epoch-making observations are the first drafts of his Great Yan Calendar. Before this was over, a line of Zen masters and Liang Lingzhan jointly created the armillary celestial instrument, and invented the automatic time-telling device in the process, setting a unique precedent for astronomical clocks in China.
The armillary celestial instrument is an astronomical instrument that reflects the advanced astronomical theory of the time. Can imitate the movement of celestial bodies, China's manufacturing armillary sphere has a long history, the Han Dynasty Zhang Heng has begun to use water power to push the gears, so that the ball runs, exactly one day a week. However, in the Tang Dynasty, the armillary spheres handed down could no longer be applied. The two geniuses worked hard and finally re-made a new armillary sphere, powered by water, where various wooden and copper-iron parts and gears intersected and rotated day and night, exactly in line with the movement of the stars on Sunday. In addition to expressing the movement of the stars, it can also represent the sunrise and moonset. There are also two wooden people on the armillary sphere, driven by gears, a wooden person automatically beats the drum every moment (in ancient times, a day and night were divided into one hundred carvings), and a wooden person automatically hit the bell every hour (combined with two hours). Of course, these two wooden people should be said to be ancient robots made of mechanical principles. This is a very clever chronography, the world's earliest mechanical clock device, is the ancestor of modern mechanical clocks, six hundred years before the Wick clock that appeared in the West in 1370 AD. When the Hun Tianyi was created and placed in front of the Wucheng Hall, Tang Xuanzong ordered all the wen and military officials to come and see, and they were all surprised and impressed. Dr. Joseph Needham, a famous British historian of science and technology, said in the fourth volume of the "History of Science and Technology in China": The parallel linkage device invented by Liang Lingzhan and the monks and their party is essentially the earliest mechanical clock, the ancestor of all escapers, walking in front of the first mechanical clock in Europe in the 14th century; the Western statement that the clock device was an invention of Europe in the early 14th century is completely wrong. After making these two instruments, the "Great Yan Calendar" was also completed, that year, that is, the fifteenth year of the new century, on October 8, a group of Zen masters traveled with Tang Xuanzong and arrived at a place called Xinfeng, and the Zen master suddenly did not say anything, he went to take a bath, changed his clothes, and Jia Zhao was sitting, mindfulness, and Yi Ran.
Bestow upon him the Great Wisdom Zen Master. Emperor Xuanzong of Tang erected for him the "Monument to the Zen Master of the Imperial System" and the monument to the Tang Dynasty Zen Master in the sixteenth year of the kaiyuan dynasty. Written by Emperor Tang Ming. He had disciples in the historical record, but who is unknown cannot be verified. His greatest achievement in the history of Buddhism, Tang Mi, was also hidden in later generations. Lonely scientific genius, lonely Buddhist Zen master, lonely Tang Mi. It is quite appropriate for a Zen master to leave the world at this age. The meaning and value of life lies in what is done for human beings, not in how long it lives. Of course, he wasn't dead, and when we looked up at the sky, he was hidden among the stars.
