Watch over a small mountain village
Every year on the day of the Fifth Dragon Boat Festival at the beginning of the fifth lunar month, in a small mountain village in the west of Ningxiang, there is always a woman who prepares male yellow wine, inserts mugwort leaves, and waits for her husband to return. She waited, waited, waited, waited, waited, waited, This old woman's name is Yuan Shao'e, and her husband is He Shuheng, a major representative of the Communist Party of China, and the Dragon Boat Festival is He Shuheng's birthday.
Yuan Shao'e was born in 1874 to a peasant family in the western mountains of Ningxiang and married He Shuheng in 1898. She had not read or read, but she was reasonable, serving her parents at home, running the housework, unconditionally supporting her husband and daughter in the revolution, and having no complaints despite her hardships.
In 1927, after the defeat of the Great Revolution, the Kuomintang reactionaries frantically slaughtered the Communists, and a major representative, He Shuheng, bore the brunt of it, offering a reward for the arrest of the He family's father and daughter. Yuan Shao'e did not know where her husband and daughter were, and she was worried. Late one night, the third daughter, He Shisi, jumped from the mountain behind the dipper and returned home to quietly tell her mother that she was leaving Ningxiang. Yuan Shao'e endured the pain of separation, secretly weeping, watching her daughter disappear into the vast night. In the months that followed, almost every two or three days, the anti-communist "Qingxiang Team" came to search once, and Yuan Shao'e was forced to hide in the mountains several times in order to avoid the enemy's interrogation and torture. Her little feet trembled and walked majestically on the mountain road, and when she couldn't walk, she used both hands to press on the gravel road to climb, and when she couldn't stand steadily downhill, she sat on the ground and rolled down. Once, unfortunately crouching next to a thorn nest, triggered a nest of wasps, and hundreds of wasps "buzzed" around her, and her face was stung, and she could not open her eyes for days and nights. But none of this seemed to her, as long as her husband and daughter were safe and sound, she was worth the pain.
Yuan Shao'e is two years older than He Shuheng, and the old husband and wife understand and support each other. He Shuheng was forced to leave Changsha in 1927, and in 1928 he arrived at the special class of Sun Yat-sen University in Moscow to study, in a foreign country, He Shuheng also worried about his wife at home, and said affectionately in a letter to his wife: "My old wife, if you live to be sixty years old, I or the day I meet you, I will always be worthy of my flesh and bones and yours." Every time he wrote a letter to his son, he always had to write two sentences to his wife at the end, and let the son read it to his wife, and the words revealed his concern and love for his wife. The husband's burning words, the son read a little awkwardly, but Yuan Shao'e listened to the tears every time. Her husband's concern for her was "not that she was afraid that she would starve to death and freeze to death, but that she would not get any spiritual comfort." He Shuheng is so considerate of his wife! No wonder Mao Zedong praised him: "He Beard is a bunch of feelings. After returning from the Soviet Union, He Shuheng entered the Central Soviet Region, and some comrades wanted to find a companion for him to take care of his life, but he strictly refused.
On February 24, 1935, He Shuheng was surrounded by the Kuomintang on his way to the White District, and was martyred by jumping off a cliff in Changting, Fujian. Due to the special circumstances of the war years, Yuan Shao'e has not been aware of the news of her husband's sacrifice.
In the spring of 1957, the 83-year-old Yuan Shao'e was critically ill, and the Shishan sisters received the news and returned to their hometown again. Before Yuan Shao'e died, she called her daughter to the bedside and said quietly: "You have been back for more than a month, you are all people who have been doing business with your father all your lives, don't wait for me to die, you don't delay business, you can leave, I have only one request, I have been lonely all my life, and when I die, I still have to be buried with your father." ”
To this day, the old people of Yu zichong often talk about this old woman who has been watching all her life. In her life, she has never stepped out of the mountains, does not understand what Marxism-Leninism is, but she firmly believes in her husband's choice, firmly supports her husband's revolutionary cause, and in the long years of decades, she interprets her love and thoughts for her husband with the most determined gaze and the most persistent waiting. She did not engage in revolutionary work, but she waited all her life for the success of the revolutionary cause and looked forward to it all her life.
Nowadays, the cause of the motherland is vigorously developing, party building has been comprehensively strengthened, the development of the hometown is getting faster and faster, and the people's life is getting better and better.
