In June 1940, Wang Ai'ai was born in Yuci, Shanxi Province, into a pear garden family. Grandpa Wang Jinkui has been in the class for many years and is also an influential figure in the Jin opera industry. In 1989, Wang Ai'ai accepted her first apprentice, Shi Jiahua, and since then, there have been new stars of Jin opera to worship under her door, and in 2007, the Shanxi Dramatists Association once again held a grand ceremony for Wang Ai'ai, so far she has 24 apprentices. She often communicates with her apprentices, imparting her artistic experience to them and encouraging them to innovate.
