According to the official WeChat message of the Memorial Hall of the Compatriots Killed in the Nanjing Massacre of the Japanese Army invading China, the elderly Wu Fengzhen, a survivor of the "comfort women" system of the Japanese army invading China, died at the age of 94 at 1:30 a.m. on December 15, 2020.

Wu Fengzhen, a native of Pingjiang, Hunan, was born in December 1927. One day, when she was seventeen or eighteen years old, on her way home, she was captured by the Japanese at the mouth of the village and taken to the area around Guanjia Village and Bamaotian and imprisoned in a comfort station. The Japanese brutally treated Wu Fengzhen, kicking her and beating her with a leather whip as long as she did not obey. Ten days later, Wu Fengzhen managed to escape and was sent home by the villagers. When she returned home, Wu Fengzhen was covered in bruises, and her husband used herbs to heal her wounds, and under the care of her family, she slowly recovered.
