According to Weibo @ Tsinghua University July 3 news, on the evening of July 1, the results of the international undergraduate supercomputing competition (ISC21) finals were announced, and the Tsinghua University student supercomputing team formed by the undergraduate students of the Department of Computer Science of Tsinghua University won the overall championship, and at the same time won the highest performance award of the LINPACK benchmark test, and won the double champion!
This is the second time that Tsinghua University has won the double championship after the SC20 supercomputing competition!

The ISC21 Supercomputing Competition is organized by the HPC Advisory Council and is ranked as the world's three most authoritative international undergraduate supercomputing competitions alongside the ASC Supercomputing Competition and the SC Supercomputing Competition. Due to the impact of the epidemic, the competition was changed to online. Teams are required to run the competition application on the Singapore National Supercomputing Centre Cluster (NSCC) and the Niagara Supercomputing Cluster of the University of Toronto, Canada.
Topics include benchmark programs LINPACK, HPCG and HPCC, weather forecasting program WRF, molecular dynamics simulation program LAMPPS, metagenomic assembly program MetaHipMer, quantum mechanical atom simulation package GPAW, and programming challenges for applying communication pattern analysis.
The Tsinghua student supercalculation team won the double championship again
A total of 13 teams from all over the world participated in the final, and the Tsinghua team consisted of 6 undergraduate students, including Zhang Chen, Zhong Yanxin, Chen Jiajie, Wang Yutian, Zhai Mingshu and Song Zeyu, and the instructors were Han Wenhan, assistant researcher of the Department of Computer Science, and Zhai Jidong, associate professor. Chen Shengqi and He Jia'ao, phD students at the High Performance Institute of the Department of Computer Science, also provided technical guidance.
This continues the "double crown" score won by the Tsinghua student supercomputing team last year.
According to the information on the website of Tsinghua University, in the early morning of November 20, 2020, the results of the finals of the 2020 International Collegiate Supercomputer Competition (SC20) were announced, and the student supercomputing team formed by the Department of Computer Science of Tsinghua University won the overall championship, and at the same time won the most high performance award of the LINPACK benchmark test and won the double champion. This is also the first time that Tsinghua has won a triple crown in the SC competition.
In the last competition, it was these six computer science students who represented Tsinghua, and the instructors of that year were Zhai Jidong and Han Wenhan, in addition to assistant researcher Gan Lin.
Among them, the "female general" Zhang Chen, is particularly eye-catching.
According to the WeChat public account "Qubit", Zhang Chen is the only girl among the 6 team members of the team, and in 2020, she became the captain of this team. According to the information collected by Qubits from Tsinghua University's website, Zhang Chen's "achievements" include, but are not limited to:
1. In the CCPC China College Students Programming Competition for Girls, Zhang Chen and his teammates completed all the competition questions in only 2/3 of the specified time, achieving Tsinghua University's first victory in the competition;
2. For the scientific research project of "Sunway Taihu Lake Light", the research results were translated into papers and published in the top international journal IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON COMPUTERS;
3. Ranked first in the ranking of research results in the whole department, with an average credit performance of 3.8, of which the courses offered by the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Mathematics were all 4.0;
4. He has won the National Scholarship and the "CCF Outstanding College Student Award" of the Chinese Computer Society;
5. Passionate about sports, he is a member of the school taekwondo team, and has won the second place in individual competition at the Capital High School Taekwondo Championship.
While congratulating Tsinghua University, many people also gave a thumbs up to this little girl:
According to the Department of Computer Science of Tsinghua University, the Global Supercomputing Conference (SC) is the top conference in the field of international supercomputing, as an important part of the conference, SC competition is the top event in the field of supercomputers, held once a year, attracting many universities in various countries and regions in the world to participate. The International Collegiate Supercomputer Competition (SC Supercomputing Competition) is listed as the world's three most authoritative international supercomputer competitions together with the World Collegiate Supercomputer Competition (ASC Supercomputing Competition) and the International Supercomputer Competition (ISC Supercomputing Competition).
