Provides a scientific basis

Among the amphibians monitored by the staff, including the national second-level protected animals red wart salamander, brown and black wart salamander, as well as Yunnan frog, Yunnan thorn frog, Gongshan tree frog, red webbed tree frog and so on. Among them, more than 100 Gongshan tree frogs, more than 300 Dian frogs and more than 300 red-webbed tree frogs are monitored every year. The relatively stable frog monitoring results show that the Gaoligong Mountain ecosystem is intact and balanced.
"We have to accurately locate the geographical coordinates and altitude every time we come, record the names, numbers, behaviors and morphologies of the monitored species, and also monitor the temperature, pH and humidity of the ponds." At the monitoring point of the black pond, the person in charge of the amphibian monitoring team of the Longyang Branch of the Baoshan Management and Protection Bureau introduced that the technical personnel selected different types of environments such as streams, natural ponds, and understory in the management and protection area for monitoring according to the topography and landform and the characteristics of amphibians. In addition to the intensive monitoring of amphibians in May and October of each year, technicians conduct supplementary surveys in different seasons to fully grasp the relevant data.
