Where is "Taicheng"? This area has been ruled by the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Song, Qi, Liang, and Chen, and has never changed

Wang Dao, Zi Maohong, small characters Red Dragon, Along. A native of Linyi County, Langyue County (present-day Linyi City, Shandong Province). A politician and calligrapher during the Eastern Jin Dynasty, he was one of the founders of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. Tao Kan (陶侃), courtesy name Shixing, was originally a native of Oyang County, Poyang County (present-day Duchang, Jiangxi), and later moved to Xunyang County,Lujiang County (present-day Jiujiang, Jiangxi), a famous general during the Eastern Jin Dynasty.

Wang Dao and Tao Kan stopped to look at each other in Jiankang City, and this was the first meeting between the two: one was the first civil official of the Jin Dynasty, with a prominent reputation; the other was the head of the military generals, who had distinguished himself in battle. The two men bowed to each other, feeling each other's amazing momentum in an instant, and involuntarily giving in three steps each. Looking around the two men, there were palace walls ravaged by war, houses burned to black, ruins buried with broken limbs and arms, and people with desperate faces.

Before telling today's story, let's first talk about the fate of a rebel general in the Eastern Jin Dynasty.

In the second year of Xianhe, Su Jun sent Xu Hui to join the army to join the Zu Covenant to plot rebellion, with the call to fight Against Yu Liang. Zu Yue sent Zu Zhuo and Xu Liu to lead troops to aid Su Jun, and Su Jun sent his generals Han Huang and Zhang Jian to attack GuYi, attack Cihu Lake, and kill The Cihu Ling Tao Fu and the Zhenwei general Sima Liu. Su Jun himself led the tens of thousands of people of Zu Zhuan and Xu Liu to cross the river from the Hengjiang River by the wind, entered the Lingkou, engaged the officers and soldiers, and frequently won victories. Soon, after capturing Miyagi Castle, they indulged their soldiers in plundering and invading the Sixth Palace, which was extremely vicious and inhumane.

After the end of Su Jun's rebellion, Zu Yue sat on a needle felt, as if he had anticipated the end of the cold lips and teeth. In the bitter cold wind at the edge of the Huai River, Zu Yue took his family with him and led hundreds of people across the river to flee to Hou Zhao. As Zu Di's younger brother, Zu Yue was not treated like his elder brother by Shi Le. For Shi Le, although Zu Ti was the biggest enemy in his life, at the same time, he was also the most cherished friend. However, Zu Yue's style of conduct was very different from Zu Ti's, very shameless, and Shi Le despised Zu Yue quite much.

After arriving, Zhao's ancestors were hung outside the palace by Shi Le, and Shi Le had no intention of receiving him at all, but only sent someone to carry a sentence: "You betrayed the imperial court in the early years, and bad things were done, and now, you are like a rat crossing the street, and this is why you want to run to me. Therefore, Zu Yue's whole family stood outside the palace walls trembling, and stood still for a long time before they were pardoned by Shi Le, who reluctantly acquiesced to Zu Yue: taking refuge in Hou Zhao.

However, letting Zu Yue live in Hou Zhao was like a lice crawling for Shi Le, and he always felt disgusted.

A year later, Shi Le finally made up his mind to get rid of Zu Yue, and ordered that all the Zu Yue clans be arrested, all the men with the surname Zu be beheaded and shown to the public, and the women gave gifts to the Hu people.

On the surface, the ancestral family has reached this point, but after the creation of people, in fact, there is still an orphan of the Zu family who escaped to be born. In the early years, Zu Ti had a loyal servant named Wang An by his side, who was a Xiongnu. Wang An was neat in his daily life, and Zu Ti admired him very much. Once, when I saw Wang An alone, I was devastated, and knowing that he missed his hometown, I planned to let him go back. Zu Di said to Wang An, "You don't have to be loyal to me, there is no shortage of talents around me, you should still go back to your hometown, you can do things under Shi Le." ”

Subsequently, Wang An was given a coil and sent someone to send him to the north. In this way, Wang An came to Shi Le's army, and because of his ability to do things, he was soon promoted by Shi Le to the position of general of the Left Guard. When Zu Yue's whole family was killed, Wang An was very sad and thought, "Is it true that the Zu clan is like this?" So he sneaked to the execution ground, bribed the executioner with money, and snatched a human life from the hands of death. This lucky man is Zu Ti's son, Zu Daozhong, who is only ten years old.

Zu Daozhong was placed in the temple by Wang An and shaved as a monk, and it was not until after Shi Le's rule was ended that Zu Daozhong dared to show his true identity. However, at this time, things had already passed, and the ancestral road back to Jiangnan was helpless and mediocre for the rest of his life.

In fact, although Wang Dao and Tao Kan were in high positions of power, there was a minister whose status was far superior to these two, and he could be called the military and political leader of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, and he was sima Xi, the minister of power. Sima Xi took the wrong side in the political struggle and defected to Su Jun, so after Su Jun's rebellion was quelled, Sima Xi was beheaded by the door. This is only a small storm in the political whirlpool, which is not humane enough, but when Sima Xi was arrested, it was in vain.

Bian Dun was Bian Hu's cousin, who was originally also an "old revolutionary" and made great contributions to the foundation of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. After the founding of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, this person served as the Assassin of Xiangzhou. In his early years, when Tao Kan put down the rebellion in Jingzhou, he called on Bian Dun to have money and make a strong contribution. However, Bian Dun chose to sit idly by, not pulling out a dime, not even a grain of rice to support Tao Kan, and only sent a few hundred people to the front line to make an errand. As a feudal official, he actually coped with his colleagues like a person who asked for food, and the whole court scolded Bian Dun's behavior.

Therefore, as a party, Tao Kan was ashamed and angry, but Tao Kan knew how to be patient and did not find Bian Dun to settle accounts until after the end of Su Jun's rebellion. The trial of Bian Dun was not complicated, so why did it cause trouble? In fact, this has to start from the background relationship of Bian Dun, who is the mastermind behind Bian Dun? It is Wang Dao! When Bian Dun was serving as the Assassin of Xiangzhou, Wang Dao gave him a top-secret task: to monitor Tao Kan's movements. That is to say, Bian Dun is the eyeliner installed by Wang Dao.

When Tao Kan was in a state of turmoil, Wang Dao was still in a wait-and-see situation, so he did not give instructions to Bian Dun, and Bian Dun, who had not received Wang Dao's orders, naturally would not support Tao Kan. Bian Dun's deeds are all his own masters, Bian Dun is an obedient subordinate, why doesn't Wang Dao know? When he heard that Tao Kan was going to deal with Bian Dun, Wang Dao first handed the fold to the imperial court and interceded for his eyeliner. Of course, the reason for Wang Dao's choice is more obscure: at present, the world is in chaos, and it should be forgiven as appropriate in order to make the situation stable, otherwise people are afraid and useless in the world.

In this way, the two powerful ministers, One Man and One Wu, were more energetic, one of them wanted to kill Bian Dun, and the other was trying to protect Bian Dun, and the scene of the discord made emperor Jin Cheng also make it difficult, and he did not know which side he should take.

Wang Dao Tao Kan and the two did not want to have friction, they both realized that there was a powerful force behind each other, and if they fought with their lives, they were afraid of losing both. So, the two had a private exchange, and finally, a compromise was reached. Tao Kan promised Wang Dao that he would no longer pursue Bian Dun, and Wang Dao wanted Bian Dun to go south to Guangzhou to serve as an assassin. However, Bian Dun did not want to leave the central government for fear of his life, so he casually took up an idle post in the DPRK. In exchange, Wang Dao acquiesced to Tao Kan's recital: abolish Xiangzhou and merge the original land into Jingzhou.

Since no one stopped it, the imperial court finally approved Tao Kan's recital. For Tao Kan, the merger of Jingxiang was like pulling out the stem in his throat, and finally, no one could stare at himself in Xiangzhou. In this way, Xiangzhou, which was split from the last years of the Western Jin Dynasty, was returned to Jingzhou at this time, which is a bit like the feeling of being a family again in Hubei Hunan. At this time, Tao Kan held the military power of the Seven Prefectures, which could be said to have controlled half of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. The first time the two sides met, it was only a tentative move, and in the end, it ended with each side giving way.

Satisfied with the outcome of the compromise, Both men recovered Bian Dun's life, and Tao Kan triumphantly returned to Jingzhou, where he was stationed.

Su Jun destroyed the entire Jiankang, and not only were the official residences, official offices, palaces, and temples burned to the ground, but even outside the city was in ruins. Before leaving, the rebels carried out the final destruction, almost 80% of the buildings were reduced to rubble, and even the emperor was "homeless". In desperation, the imperial court could only choose a relatively complete building as a temporary palace, allowing the Jin Cheng Emperor to temporarily live in the Garden City behind the original site of the imperial palace. The city was in an economic crisis, prices were rising, and the treasury was empty, unable to regulate the economy.

It can be said that the entire people of Jiankang City were displaced, the people were not happy, and even the ministers could not hold back, and they said: "If this continues, I am afraid that we will all starve to death, or move the capital." "Moving is a good idea, but where to move?" At this time, Wen Yu stepped forward and requested that the capital be moved to Jiangzhou, which was his territory and relatively safe, while the nobles of Sanwu proposed to move the capital to Huiji, because Huiji was their hometown.

Both places were relatively rich, and it was not a problem to support the normal operation of the imperial court, but the two factions of old ministers were always deadlocked and arguing endlessly, and neither of them could convince the other side. In the end, it was Wang Daoli who defied the crowd and said to everyone:

"Once Sun Quan and Liu Bei said that Jiankang is the most suitable city for building a capital. As the palace where the emperor lives, there is no need for luxury and waste, as long as we work together and work hard to build, even the ruins can rebuild a beautiful home; if we blindly pursue a comfortable paradise, no matter how rich the city of the capital is, sooner or later it will be eaten up. Now that the north has not yet been pacified, jiankang's strategic position is self-evident, if the capital is moved south, the forces in the north will certainly feel that we are scared, and it will be more difficult to revive the prestige in the future. The most important thing now is to remain calm and pacify the people, and only when the royal family maintains its majesty, the people will be at ease. ”

From the perspective of the overall situation, Wang Dao's views are far-sighted and very atmospheric, and no one can refute them. However, from a personal point of view, Wang Dao also has his own careful thoughts. Wang Dao has been operating in Yangzhou for many years, Jiankang is his fundamental place, as long as he does not leave Jiankang, the intelligence network and relationship network that Wang Dao has operated for many years can still come in handy.

In short, after Wang Dao's generous statement, the government and the public were silent, and everyone acquiesced to Wang Dao's measures to rebuild Jiankang.

In 330 AD, the reconstruction of Jiankang was officially launched, and it took two years to rebuild the imperial palace. This newly built imperial palace was the later "Taicheng". Where is the location of the new palace? The east-west, north-south division of Taicheng is ruyili line, Youfu West Street, Wenchang Lane north line, Dengfu Lane line, and the center of Taicheng is about the current Daxing Palace.

In the turbulent period that followed, Taicheng went through the rule of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Song, Qi, Liang, and Chen, and never changed. Jiankang was finally rebuilt with the efforts of Wang Dao and others, and Jiankang, which had experienced hardships and obstacles, could now finally recuperate, although it was not long before Jiankang woke up from a deep sleep. Wang Dao lived to be sixty-four years old, and after his death, Emperor Cheng ordered the whole country to mourn for three days, judging from the scale of Wang Dao's funeral, it was no less than huo Guang of the Han Dynasty. Since the Eastern Jin Dynasty, there has been no courtier who can match Wang Dao.

After Wang Dao was buried, Emperor Cheng sent a special festival to posthumously honor Wang Dao as a "document" and offer him to the Taimiao Temple. In 420, Liu Yu established the Liu Song Dynasty, and at this time, the only people who still enjoyed the title of former dynasty were the descendants of Wang Dao, Tao Kan, Xie Xuan, and Wen Jiao, but the titles of Wang's descendants had been demoted to the duke of Sixing County, and they were given a thousand households.

From this point of view, the influence of Wang Dao and Tao Kan on future generations can be described as very far-reaching.
