The history books do not record in detail the end of Gao Lan, that is to say, Gao Lan's whereabouts are a mystery, why did he mysteriously disappear?
During the Battle of Guandu, Cao Cao and Yuan Shao's two armies confronted each other, and Cao Cao listened to Xu You's advice and personally led 5,000 elite cavalry to sneak into Wuchao, Yuan Shao's grain tun land, and Zhang Gao suggested that Yuan Shao send heavy troops to save Wuchao, because the grain and grass were destroyed, the army was unstable, and it was chaotic without war.
Yuan Shao listened to the advice of the strategist Guo Tu and sent Zhang Gao and Gao Lan to lead troops to attack Cao Cao's base camp, Zhang Gao said, Who is Cao Cao? He was very shrewd, since Cao Cao dared to sneak attack Wuchao, surely the base camp was also prepared, if we went to fight Cao Cao's base camp, not only would we not be able to fight down, but also, If Wuchao could not be effectively rescued, it would definitely be finished.
Zhang Gao's suggestion was very correct, but Yuan Shao was like a brain in the water, dead or alive, and as a result, as Zhang Gao said, Cao Cao's heavy troops defended the base camp and could not be defeated at all, and Zhang Gao and Gao Guan lost the battle.
Guo Tu was afraid that Yuan Shao would pursue responsibility, so he deliberately offered rumors, saying that Zhang Gao and Gao Lan were not unable to fight, but that they had selfish intentions and were deliberate. Yuan Shao then questioned Zhang Gao and Gao Lan, and at this time, Zhang Gao and Gao Lan, who had no way to retreat, were cornered and forced to be helpless, and did not do one thing and two, so they surrendered to Cao Cao.
The Chronicle of the Three Kingdoms of Yuan Shao records that Taizu was still alive and had not yet arrived at the camp, and Shao led gao lan and Zhang Guo to lead his people to surrender. Shao Zhong collapsed, and Shao and Tan Shan rode back across the river.
After the two surrendered, Zhang Gao has been performing well, becoming one of the five sons of Cao Wei, and the history books are also more detailed, while Gao Lan is not recorded, as if it has evaporated since then, and the ending is a mystery.
In the rendition, gao lan is chasing liu bei, Zhao Yun suddenly arrived, stabbed gao lan under the horse with a shot, and Gao Lan died, but it is a novel, not a history, and it is not credible.
In the main history, the reason why the ending of Gao Lan is not recorded can be speculated about the following reasons.
