People who are not familiar with this store are often confused by the name of the store: this is a rice shop? A shop selling boats? Is the owner of the shop surname Mi? Congratulations, you've all answered incorrectly. Old Fuzhou knows that this is a long-established frame shop.
Thirty years without a name for the shop
In 1865, Lin Jinshi opened a framed shop in Nanhou Street, with exquisite craftsmanship, becoming the best among many framed shops in Fuzhou. But the store has been open for thirty years and has no name, is this the realm of "no name and no name" in the art of naming?
In 1897, when the famous fuzhou poet He Zhendai came to frame the calligraphy and painting, he asked the name of the shop, the owner asked him to help think of one, He Zhendai wrote down the three characters of "MiJia Boat", He Zhendai explained: The Northern Song Dynasty calligrapher Mi Fu likes to take a boat to tour the mountains and rivers, where the boat stops, where it is improvised to write and paint, there is a good story in the history of Chinese calligraphy and painting that "Mi Jia characters paint all over the river", which is the source of "Mi Jia Boat". Since then, the "Mijia Ship" has been famous and has been passed down from generation to generation, and now it has been more than 150 years. The "Mijia Boat" has a special method for dismantling damaged, moldy, yellowed and old calligraphy and paintings, and has made contributions to the protection of ancient calligraphy and painting cultural relics.
An exclusive craft taught orally
The core craft of the "Mijia Boat" is their homemade paste. Patiently boil, add Traditional Chinese medicine, grasp the thickness with the weather dry and wet, pass on the skills orally, a sheet of 3 meters long and 1 wide. The 5-meter Nanmu table and a Nanmu long ladder were created when the store was opened, and accompanied the "Mijia Boat" to float and sink through for more than 150 years.

"Mijia Boat" is also the epitome of this traditional commercial street of Nanhou Street, which has gathered engraving shops, old book stalls, frame shops, lantern shops and so on. "The Glass Factory outside the Zhengyang Gate, the front and south back streets of Yijinfang." At the end of the Qing Dynasty, this poem compares Nanhou Street to Beijing Liuli Factory, which is prosperous and charming.
