In 1949, Chiang Kai-shek withdrew to Taiwan, Taiwan and the mainland were lost for a while, and people on both sides of the strait were bitterly thinking of their relatives on the other side of the strait but could not get together. People who could not bear the pain of homesickness tried all kinds of means to sneak back, and one of them flew back to the mainland in a Boeing plane, and his name was Wang Xijue.
Wang Xijue was born in 1929, a native of Suining, Sichuan, and has been growing up in the mainland since childhood. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Wang Xijue saw that his homeland was trampled on by the Japanese, so he was determined to serve the country from the army. In 1943, at the age of 14, Wang Xijue entered the Air Force Kindergarten School to learn flight knowledge, and this authentic Sichuan Man had a fiery patriotic heart. However, because the Kuomintang defeated Taiwan in 1949, Wang Xijue could only follow the school he attended to move to Taiwan en masse.
At that time, Wang Xijue was only 20 years old, and although he was reluctant to his homeland, he could not make any resistance, and could only follow a large army to Taiwan. After graduating from the Air Force School, Wang Xijue was recommended for his excellent grades, and the Taiwan side specially sent him overseas for further study and trained him as an ace pilot.
After returning to Taiwan from overseas, Wang Xijue joined the Black Cat Squadron of Taiwan's intelligence department and began to fly a reconnaissance plane to carry out dangerous reconnaissance missions. The Black Cat Squadron stipulates that as long as it has completed 10 dangerous reconnaissance missions, it can "retire early". In order to be able to retire early," Wang Xijue completed the reconnaissance task early. In 1967, at the age of 38, Wang Xijue retired.
Although Wang Xijue withdrew from the army, he continued to work as a pilot, but he joined civil aviation. After that, Wang Xijue joined "China Airlines" and worked hard at China Airlines for more than ten years. During the flight, Wang Xijue did not make a single mistake, in the eyes of the outside world, he was a perfect pilot, but no matter how high his achievements could not make up for the emptiness in Wang Xijue's heart, he always remembered his family in the mainland.
Because of the development of the times, cross-strait relations have gradually eased, and Wang Xijue learned the whereabouts of his family through special channels. In 1984, Wang Xijue was reunited with his family in Hong Kong after 35 years of leaving the mainland, but his mother had died and only his father was alive. The tearful Wang Xijue saw his father's sideburns turn white, and he immediately had a plan to return to the mainland to settle down. On May 3, 1986, Wang Xijue flew a Boeing plane to land at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport during a travel mission, and when Wang Xijue's father was 82 years old, the father and son could finally live together.
After returning to the mainland, Wang Xijue had a very good life, he served as deputy director of the North China Administration bureau of civil aviation and chief pilot, and then was appointed as a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, enjoying the treatment of deputy ministerial level. With the support of countless people, the two sides of the strait have finally opened the "three links," people on both sides of the strait no longer need to be separated, and countless people who miss their homeland have poured into the mainland and visited their relatives. If it wasn't for Wang Xijue making a good start, I really don't know how long these people would have to wait to see their relatives.
After his retirement, Wang Xijue was elected as a director of the Whampoa Military Academy Alumni Association, and he also used his status as a director to call for cross-strait peace. In his later years, Wang Xijue did a lot of work for cross-strait peace and always paid close attention to the dynamics of the two sides of the strait.
