On March 14, 2014, the IOC official website officially announced the five bidding cities for the 2022 Winter Olympics: Beijing-Zhangjiakou (Chongli) in China, Krakow in Poland, Oslo in Norway, Almaty in Kazakhstan and Lviv in Ukraine.
On the evening of 7 July 2014, the IOC announced in Lausanne, Switzerland, the completion of the primary election for the 2022 Winter Olympics, and selected three candidate cities according to the rules: Beijing, China, Oslo, Norway, and Almaty, Kazakhstan
On 31 July 2015, the IOC will officially determine the right to host the 222 Winter Olympics.
Emblem
The emblem of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics takes the Chinese character "Winter" as the source of inspiration, uses the art form of Chinese calligraphy, integrates the thick oriental cultural heritage with the international modern style, and presents a new image and new dream of China in the new era.
The upper part of the emblem graphic shows the shape of the skater, and the lower part shows the heroism of the skier. The smooth and rhythmic lines of the middle dance represent the rolling hills, arenas, ice and snow slides and ribbons of festival dancing in the host area, adding a festive visual feeling to the emblem and symbolizing that the Beijing Winter Olympics will be held during the Chinese Spring Festival.
The emblem is dominated by blue, which symbolizes dreams and the future, as well as the bright purity of ice and snow. The red and yellow colors are derived from the Chinese flag and represent the passion, youth and vitality of the movement. In the form of the "BEIJING 2022" font, the characteristics of Chinese calligraphy and paper-cutting are absorbed, which enhances the cultural connotation and expressiveness of the font, and also reflects the overall sense and unity of the emblem graphics.
Medals
The center of the front of the medal is engraved with the Olympic ring logo, and the words XXIV Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 are engraved around it. The ring is concave, taking the traditional string pattern jade bi, and the lightly carved decorative pattern on it comes from the traditional Chinese pattern, of which the ice and snow pattern shows the characteristics of the Winter Olympics, and the auspicious cloud pattern conveys the auspicious meaning.
The center of the back of the medal is engraved with the emblem of the Beijing Winter Olympics, and the full name of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games Chinese (Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games) is engraved around it. The ring is engraved with 24 points and movement arcs, taking the ancient astronomical map, symbolizing the vast starry sky, the harmony between man and nature, and also symbolizing the athletes of the 24th Winter Olympics who shine like stars and create good results.

The mascot of the Beijing Winter Olympics is named "Ice Pier", and the image is derived from the national treasure giant panda.

The head shell is taken from the ice and snow sports helmet, decorated with a colorful halo, which is inspired by the national speed skating hall of the Beijing Winter Olympics - "Ice Ribbon", the flowing bright color lines symbolize the ice and snow sports track and 5G high-tech; the heart shape of the left palm represents the host country's warm welcome to friends around the world. The overall image resembles an astronaut, implying the creation of the extraordinary and exploring the future, reflecting the pursuit of excellence, leading the times, and the infinite possibilities for the future.
Torch relay
On the afternoon of October 18, 2021, Beijing time, the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics flame collection ceremony was held at the ancient Olympia site in Greece, which also means that the curtain of the Beijing Winter Olympic Torch Relay was officially opened.
On October 19, 2021, the Beijing Winter Olympics flame was sent to China, and li Jiajun, a famous short-track speed skater, passed the torch. Nina Lee was the second torchbearer.
On October 19, 2021, the torch of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games was handed over to Yu Zaiqing, vice chairman of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, and the torch handover ceremony was successfully completed.
