"The five-star red flag is waving in the wind, how loud the victory song is; singing our dear motherland, from now on to prosperity and strength..." This is a patriotic song composed by Wang Xin, former chairman of the Tianjin Musicians Association, and has become a classic that hundreds of millions of Chinese people have sung for a long time. Li Ying, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and vice president of the Council of the Tianjin Municipal Association of Non-Party Intellectuals, suggested in an exclusive interview with a reporter from the China News Agency at the two sessions of the National People's Congress that Wang Xin and "Singing the Motherland" should be built into Chinese cultural brands.

On September 15, 1950, Wang Xin was on the train returning to Tianjin from Beijing and created "Singing the Motherland" with feeling. On October 29, 1951, at the Third Session of the First National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference held in Huairentang, Zhongnanhai, Chairman Mao Zedong happily praised "Singing the Motherland" for its good writing when he met Wang Xin. Since then, "Singing the Motherland" has swept the country and become one of the most influential mass songs in China's contemporary music creation, and has been praised as the "second national anthem".

For decades, "Singing the Motherland" has been indispensable in china's major events. In 2003, China's first manned spacecraft was successfully launched, and astronaut Yang Liwei brought "Singing the Motherland" to space for the first time; in 2007, the "Chang'e-1" lunar exploration satellite sent a song of "Singing the Motherland" to the earth from a lunar orbit 380,000 kilometers away; at the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, "Singing the Motherland" was also sung as the only traditional song.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 70th anniversary of the publication of the song "Singing the Motherland" composed by wang Xin, a people's musician. Although Wang Xin and "Singing the Motherland" were born and were born in Tianjin, the historical role and important influence he (it) produced are deeply remembered by all Chinese. Because of this, Li Ying believes that Wang Xin and "Singing the Motherland" should be promoted and publicized as an important cultural heritage of China.

"Throughout the history of China's modern era, especially the development of modern culture and nationality, artistic classics such as "Singing the Motherland" are still widely sung throughout China and even the world, and there are not many that have such far-reaching political impact." Li Ying suggested that taking the 70th anniversary of the CPC's centennial birthday and the publication of Wang Xin's "Singing the Motherland" as an opportunity to build a "Wang Xin" cultural brand, the state can rely on Tianjin Municipality to invest in projects, formulate implementation plans, and make full use of the news media to widely publicize Wang Xin and "Singing the Motherland", so that Wang Xin and "Singing the Motherland" will become China's cultural brands.

Li Ying pointed out that it is possible to use the former residence of Wang Xin in Tianjin to name himself "Wang Xin" and use "Singing the Motherland" as the content to establish the "People's Musician Wang Xin Memorial Hall" and make it a patriotic education base in Tianjin and even the whole country; we can use the social influence of Wang Xin and "Singing the Motherland" to organize professional personnel to create musicals, dramas, operas, or ballets about Wang Xin and "Singing the Motherland."

"We must see that Wang Xin and "Singing the Motherland" are not only important cultural heritage and creative resources in Tianjin, but also important cultural celebrities and cultural heritage in the field of culture in our country." Li Ying said that the state can first carry out pilot projects in Tianjin, and then promote them to the whole country when the conditions are ripe in the future.

She also suggested that to hold the "Wang Xin" Cup international and domestic music events, the relevant departments of the state or Tianjin can be designated to take the lead in organizing this work, so as to truly form a leading role that can reflect the leading role of the state in the process of cultural branding in the process of economic development, so that it can become a national cultural brand at the same time, but also become a business card and window to publicize China and expand cultural exchanges.
