"The Shawshank Redemption" tells the story of a banker named Andy, who was wrongfully imprisoned at the peak of his life, bullied by prison guards in prison, harassed by homosexuals, and then used his expertise to gain the trust of the warden and help the warden launder money. At this time, everyone believes that Andy is wronged, Tommy told Andy about this matter, Andy is too eager to get the truth, he went to the warden to explain that he was wronged, wanted the warden to help him overturn the case, but the warden listened, but immediately showed a vicious face, he told Andy, this is fake, told him not to want to leave, just stay here.
Andy can't stand it, and loses control of his emotions in front of the warden, in order to stabilize Andy, the warden calls Tommy to the cell, pretends to ask the reason for the matter kindly, but when he knows the truth, he kills Tommy.
The kind Tommy thus died under the warden's black gun, and he did not understand what was wrong until he died. Tommy didn't do anything wrong, it was just that he forgot himself while protecting others. While intending to testify for Andy, he forgot to consider whether the warden wanted Andy to stay. If he had thought more about whether there would be any disadvantage in doing so, perhaps the ending would not have been so cruel.
While protecting others, you must also learn to protect yourself. On November 13, 2016, in an apartment in Japan, a 24-year-old Chinese student, Jiang Ge, was stabbed several times by his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend Chen Shifeng in order to protect his girlfriend Liu Xin. He was frightened by the dramatic changes in the world, when he was imprisoned, there were very few cars outside, and now the streets are full of cars. Before he went to prison, he had relatives and friends, but now his relatives have long since left the world, and his friends have not been heard from. He was assigned a grocery store job in prison, but he was unresponsive, unpopular with his manager, physically exhausted, and unable to bear long hours of work.
Such a life bored him, made him afraid, he was like taking a gun to go to the bank robbery and go to prison again, but he was old and had no strength to toss. Helplessly, he lost his enthusiasm for life and finally chose to hang himself on the beam of the hotel.
The very different endings of Lao Bu and Red's lives also hint at the importance of life choices. If Red hadn't met Andy, the rest of his life would have been the same as Old Boo, and if Andy hadn't planned the rest of his life during his 19 years in prison, why would he have become a rescuing Red?
When Red receives Andy's envelope, who can save him if he doesn't take the initiative to go to the Mexican island? Similarly, if Lao Bu had planned for his life after his release from prison earlier, how could he have ended up with a hanged suicide?
