During the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, a shocking case occurred in Anhui that shocked the government and the public, a shexian prisoner named Zhang Liangbi brutally killed more than ten girls.
Qian Kai was a scholar in the fifty-fourth year of Qianlong (1789), starting from the Hanlin Yuan Shu Jishi, to the eleventh year of Jiaqing, the Jiaqing Emperor lamented that Qian Kai was "long straight and diligent", and used the official positions of Four or Five Pins of Jingtang, such as Shaoqing of Litaichang Temple, Secretary of Guanglu Temple, and Inspector of Anhui.
That is to say, although Qian Kai was a jinshi during the Qianlong period, he was an official during the reign of the Jiaqing Emperor. The Jiaqing Emperor always admired Qian Kai and handed over the case to Qian Kai, and the Jiaqing Emperor was very relieved.

Of course, Qian Kai also wanted to take the opportunity to perform it and satisfy his master, the Jiaqing Emperor. Therefore, he personally went to Shexian County, not only to review the case file, but also to conduct private visits in the private sector, and finally sorted out the ins and outs of the case.
Originally, the prisoner named Zhang Liangbi (the Ming Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty were called people who studied in the Guozijian or obtained the qualification to enter the Guozijian. The Qing Dynasty also allowed the use of donations to obtain such titles, which were equivalent to raising people. There are also some social backgrounds, in today's words, the official underworld is open to eating, rich and powerful. But this man was very superstitious, and when he heard that the essence of a virgin could be healthy, he thought of trying to abduct a four- or five-year-old girl to make medicine to supplement the body.
According to the Qing Dynasty historian Zhao Yi's description of the case in the "Miscellaneous Records of Eaves Exposure": Zhang Liangbi specially developed a psychedelic drug in order to get more virgins, and then "blew the medicine into the nostrils, that is, the coma was unknown, and the silver pipe probed its yin and sucked the essence." "Because the girl's body was not yet developed, and she was brutally destroyed by Zhang Liangbi, the result was a vicious incident of at least thirteen children who could not bear the torture and died, which caused great indignation in the local area."
Qian Kai, the inspector of Anhui, had a good idea and began to interrogate Zhang Liangbi, who had committed the most heinous crimes. However, Zhang Liangbi was a bit backstage, the official government had no evidence, plus he was a prisoner, and the only witness was also a surviving five-year-old girl, so he "stood up and knelt down, resisted and persevered, saying that there was no such thing since ancient times, how could he frame people for unnecessary things." The suspect did not confess, Qian Kai was also a well-known clean official, and he would not abuse the big sentence unless he had to, and the case suddenly fell into an impasse.
This is a serious case that the Jiaqing Emperor has confessed. The case could not be solved, which not only failed to live up to the high expectations of the Jiaqing Emperor, but also ruined Qian Kai's own reputation. Qian Kai was sleeping and eating, tossing and turning, and suddenly his eyes lit up, he had a plan.
Qian Kai went to find one of Zhang Liangbi's concubines, and he knew that he was reasonable and moved by affection, this concubine was originally snubbed by Zhang Liangbi because of the jealousy of the wind, and saw that the inspector was so earnest, he finally told Zhang Liangbi's evil deeds all, and also provided two important evidences of Zhang Liangbi's psychedelic drugs used to abduct girls and silver pipes that absorbed the essence of virgins.
Qian Kai persuaded the concubine to go to court to confront Zhang Liangbi. In the face of human and physical evidence, the arrogant Zhang Liangbi's defense line collapsed, and he finally prostrated his head and confessed.
The case was successfully solved, and Zhang Liangbi, who committed the most heinous crime, was sentenced to beheading. Qian Kai excitedly immediately reported the results of the trial and the punishment to the Jiaqing Emperor. I thought to myself, this case was so beautifully solved, the Jiaqing Emperor should reward him.
Qian Kai failed to live up to the expectations of the Jiaqing Emperor
Unexpectedly, when the Jiaqing Emperor saw the song that Inspector Qian Kai of Anhui had "couriered" to, he was furious and scolded Qian Kai for being incompetent.
Didn't the Jiaqing Emperor want Qian Kai to kill Zhang Liangbi? It was precisely the Jiaqing Emperor who felt that Zhang Liangbi was "humanoid and animalistic, and he was killed with many lives", how could he give such a painful death method? Immediately issued a holy decree and changed the sentence to Zhang Liangbi Lingchi's execution. However, Qian Kai, the inspector of Anhui Province, was suspected of conniving with criminals because he was confused by the confused officials and wrongly named a person, and was suspected of conniving with criminals, and was handed over to the Ministry for investigation. As a result, Qian Kai, who was bent on pleasing the Jiaqing Emperor, was demoted to the first level by the ministry, and later demoted to the second level by the Jiaqing Emperor and fined for half a year.
From the decisive decision to the late treatment, this is not because the Jiaqing Emperor is cruel and vicious, but it is precisely because the Jiaqing Emperor is a kind of "comfort" for more than a dozen families who have lost their beloved daughters. This point is indeed more humane than Qian Kai, who was born into a jinshi.
