Crossing the river
Suzhou Zhangjiagang to Nantong Rugao River Crossing Passage is located about 28 kilometers downstream of Jiangyin Bridge and about 16 kilometers upstream of Shanghai-Sutong Bridge, which is an important passage connecting Suzhou Zhangjiagang and Nantong Rugao. The river crossing channel is a river crossing channel project that will be promoted during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period of the national "Layout Plan for the Yangtze River Trunk Line Crossing (2020-2035)" and the "Jiangsu Yangtze River Economic Belt Comprehensive Three-Dimensional Transportation Corridor Planning (2018-2035)".
The construction of the project will be of great significance to the implementation of the yangtze river delta regional integration and the national strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, optimize the layout of the Yangtze River crossing channel, improve the layout of the regional trunk line network, and promote the construction of the Yangtze River urban agglomeration and the integrated development of Sutong across the river.
Item Status
The project starts from the G40 Shanghai-Shaanxi Expressway Shizhuang Interchange on the west side of Rugao Shizhuang Town in the north, crosses the Yangtze River to the south, and ends at the Zhangjiagang Shugang Expressway Chenyang Interchange, with a total length of about 30 kilometers.
The project consists of three parts: the south-north connection line and the cross-river bridge, of which the cross-river section and the diversion bridge (Zhangjiagang North Interchange to Rugao South Interchange) adopt two-way eight lanes with a design speed of 100 km/h; the cross-strait connection section adopts two-way six lanes with a design speed of 120 km/h. The project is scheduled to start construction in December 2021 and be completed in December 2027 with a construction period of six years.
Project Progress
The Comprehensive Planning Department of the Municipal Transportation Bureau actively promoted the preliminary work of the project, coordinated the relevant departments of the Nantong Transportation Bureau and the Taizhou Transportation Bureau, and jointly cooperated with the Communications and Construction Bureau of the Provincial Transportation Department to carry out the work of the Zhanggao River Crossing Channel, and went to Nanjing and Nantong several times to discuss the wiring line, interconnection and bridge plan. Together with the Zhangjiagang Transportation Bureau, according to the planned time nodes of the provincial department, the pre-examination of land use and planning site selection, environmental assessment, social stability risk assessment, ecological wetland supplementation, etc. are issued, and the unit price of compensation for land requisition and demolition, the opinions on soil extraction and large temporary land use, aviation assessment, flood assessment and other work are issued.
After unremitting efforts, all the pre-construction has been completed, and on July 21, 2021, the feasibility report of the Zhanggao River Crossing Project was approved by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission. In the next step, we will continue to cooperate with the preliminary design and its pre-theme, construction drawing design and other work to ensure that the construction of the Grand Pro Project will start in 2021 and the project will start in substance.
