How did King Kang escape from the Golden Camp?

author:History of Dongo

In the Jing Kang Rebellion, the imperial personnel of the Song Dynasty, the civil and military officials, and the palace women were all taken away by the Jin people. King Zhao of Kang was the only prince who escaped the clutches of the Jin people, and was later proclaimed emperor by the military and people of the Song Dynasty, so there was the Southern Song Dynasty.

Why was King Kang Zhao so lucky, and how did he escape from the clutches of the Golden Man?

How did King Kang escape from the Golden Camp?

In 1126, in the first year of Jing Kang, the Jin people left Yan and did not lead an army to Kaifeng City. The cunning Jin people attacked the city and demanded peace talks.

Emperor Qinzong held a royal council to discuss who to send to negotiate peace. King Zhao of Kang took the initiative to stand up and make a generous statement, saying that for the sake of the homeland and the community, I am willing to go through it. In fact, this is because Zhao Shuo knew that he and Zhao Huan of Qinzong were not born of the same mother, and the relationship was not close enough, and the emperor would inevitably send himself, rather than being named, it was better to take the initiative himself and leave a good impression on the emperor and the ministers.

Emperor Qinzong was naturally very happy, so he sent Zhao Zhuo and Shaozai Zhang Bangchang and others to Jinying to negotiate peace, and actually became a hostage of the Song Dynasty in Jinying. Unexpectedly, Song Qinzong did not care about the safety of the hostages' lives at all, and sent Yao Pingzhong and other generals to lead the death squad to rob the Golden Camp at night, but the Jin people had already taken precautions, and the robbery of the camp was not successful.

On the night of the robbery, the lights were bright everywhere, and the sound of killing was tremendous, and Zhao Zhao, the king of Kang, was very afraid, afraid that the Jin people would kill themselves in anger. Song made Zheng Wangzhi relieved Zhao Shuo and said, We have been here for more than ten days, how can we know about the robbery of the camp? Rest assured, the Golden Man will not be angry with us. The fact was as Zheng Wang expected, and the Jin people did not embarrass Zhao Zhao and others.

Soon, the Song Dynasty reached a peace agreement with the Jin people, and the Song Dynasty ceded the land north of the three towns of Taiyuan, Zhongshan Province, and Hejian, and paid a compensation of 10 million taels, and the Jin people withdrew.

However, the Golden Man also put forward a condition. When the Jin people saw that Zhao Shuo rode horses and shot arrows every day, his life was very regular, and he did not panic at all, so he suspected that King Kang Zhao Zhuo was a fake prince and asked for another member of the royal family to be taken hostage. Emperor Qinzong of Song sent his half-brother King Su to exchange for King Zhao of Kang.

Zhao Shuo thus left the Jin camp and returned to Kaifeng City.

This is the historical record of Zhao Zhao's going to and leaving the Golden Camp. The Zhao Shuo described here is an awe-inspiring image of righteousness, who took the initiative to ask to go to Jinying as a hostage, behaved in Jinying, and showed off his physical strength and martial arts. This is in stark contrast to zhao zhao's later image of the bag, and it seems that he is not a person.

However, there is another version of the story.

Saying that Zhao Zhao was in the Jin camp was actually not humble, but under the impetus of fear and desire to survive, he compromised (surrendered) to the Jin people. Zhao Zhuo told the Jin people all the internal situation of the Song Dynasty that he knew, and proposed to the Jin people that as long as he could let himself go back, he would agree to all the conditions proposed by the Jin people. Therefore, the Jin people put forward some conditions, and Zhao Zhuo accepted them all. Therefore, there was a scene where the Jin people suspected that Zhao Zhuo was a fake and asked for a replacement.

As for what conditions the Jin people put forward, it can only be guessed, it is likely to let Zhao Shuo go back to do internal responses, continue to provide intelligence and other help to the Jin people, the Jin people promised to abolish Song Qinzong after the attack on Kaifeng, establish Zhao Zhao as a puppet emperor, and let Zhao Zhuo rule the Song Dynasty lands for the Jin people.

How did King Kang escape from the Golden Camp?

Everyone can imagine themselves as Zhao Zhao at that time. In the golden camp, Zhao Zhuo only had two choices, he was not afraid of death to stay, afraid of death, reluctant to be glorious and rich, he wanted to leave. In reality, there are always a very small number of people who are not afraid of death, and the majority are afraid of death.

Zhao Zhuo obviously did not belong to that very small minority, what was the thing he most wanted to do? Of course, he left the golden camp by any means.

Escape is certainly impossible. The only way to do that is to persuade the manager of the Golden Man to leave him or make a deal with him to agree to leave. In exchange for leaving, Zhao Zhuo could only sell all the valuable things in his body and promise all the conditions of the Jin people.

In this way, the Jin people agreed to let King Kang Zhao Leave. Of course, the Jin people obviously would not make a loss-making deal, and could not put it back to Zhao Shuo in vain, and let Song Qinzong exchange it for his half-brother Su Wang.

In this way, no matter what, Zhao Zhuo escaped the clutches of the Jin people and had the later Southern Song Dynasty.

In short, there are two versions of Zhao Shuo's escape from the Jin Camp, the first of which is a canonical historical record, which may be that the literati have beautified Zhao Shuo. The glorious image of Zhao Zhuo established provided legitimacy for the Southern Song Dynasty.

The second version is mainly a reasonable imagination of the irrational places in the historical record. It is impossible for the Jin people to not even know the truth or falsity of the Song Dynasty prince. Even if you don't know, there is no need to put it back. This is only in the interests of Zhao Shuo, not in the interests of the Jin people. Unless, Zhao Shuo made a deal with the Jinren, let the Jinren put back Zhao Shuo profitably, and make a steady profit.

After Zhao Zhao returned to Kaifeng, he was solemnly welcomed, and Zhao formed a hero who bravely explored the tiger's den.

However, eight months later, the Jin people went south again. Emperor Qinzong of Song again sent Zhao Zhao to send an envoy to The Golden Camp. As a result, Zhao Zhuo and the mission did not go to the Jin camp and returned.

After Emperor Qinzong reprimanded Zhao Shuo, he still forced Zhao Shuo to go to the Jin camp. This time, Zhao Zhuo still did not dare to go to Jinying, nor did he dare to return to Kaifeng, so he slowly and leisurely went to Xiangzhou and Cizhou along the way, and did not go to Jinying under the persuasion of Wang Boyan of Xiangzhou Zhizhou and Zong Ze of Cizhou Zhizhou.

Soon, Zhao Shuo received a wax pill sent by the Song Qin sect, and made Zhao Zhao the Grand Marshal of the Terracotta Army of Hebei, asking him to raise an army to serve the king. At this time, the Second Emperor Hui Qin was about to become a prisoner of the Jin people. The emperor's order was no longer good for Zhao Shuo, and Zhao Shuo began to act according to his own will, did not lead an army to save his father and brother, and ascended the throne himself as emperor.
