Yangcheng Evening News reporter Zhou Cong reported: Ha Zengyou, director of the Department of Employment Income Distribution and Consumption of the National Development and Reform Commission, recently said publicly that the employment of young people focusing on college graduates has been facing a lot of pressure, and this year's college graduates have reached 9.09 million, and at the same time, affected by the epidemic and flood disasters, some small and medium-sized enterprises have the phenomenon of reducing recruitment and cautious recruitment, and the recruitment situation is relatively tense.
Recently, the latest "Job Market Prosperity Report for College Graduates in the Third Quarter of 2021" (hereinafter referred to as the "Prosperity Report") released by the China Employment Research Institute of Chinese Min University and Zhilian Recruitment shows that with the improvement of domestic epidemic prevention and control and the continuous recovery of economic development, the employment prosperity index of college graduates in the third quarter of 2021 decreased month-on-month, but increased year-on-year. This means that the employment situation of college graduates has further improved.
The prosperity report shows that in the third quarter, college graduates entered the peak period of autumn job hunting, and the employment prosperity index decreased from the previous quarter, indicating that the job competition in the quarter was fierce.
Compared with previous years, one of the changes in the job market for college students this year is the impact of the "double reduction" policy on the employment of the education and training industry.
According to the boom report, into the third quarter of 2021, the number of college graduates in the education/training/college industry declined month by month from July to September, while the number of job applicants also fell significantly in August, with a slight recovery in September. The employment climate index for college graduates also fell from 9.77 in August to 4.69 in September, indicating that the "double reduction" policy has a significant cooling effect on employment in the industry.
From the perspective of occupation, the occupations with better employment boom for college graduates in the third quarter are real estate transactions, primary and secondary school course counseling, sales consultants, medical equipment, general workers/technicians, etc., but the nature or content of real estate transactions, sales consultants, general workers/technicians and other occupations is relatively single, the technical content is not high, and the salary treatment is less attractive to job seekers of college graduates, so there is a large supply gap.
Primary and secondary school curriculum counseling occupations ranked second among the top ten employment boom occupations for college graduates, and the implementation of the "double reduction" policy has a significant impact on college graduates of primary and secondary school curriculum counseling occupations. From the perspective of recruitment demand, from July to September 2021, the number of recruitment demand for primary and secondary school curriculum counseling has declined continuously, especially in September, when the number of people has dropped significantly, and the september prosperity index has also fallen to the lowest point since the second quarter.
The report shows that the CIER index of college graduates in the third quarter of 2021 showed a trend of increasing in new first-tier, first-tier, second-tier and third-tier cities. Among them, the prosperity index of first-tier and new first-tier cities is relatively low, while the job market of second- and third-tier cities is relatively relaxed.
