This speech was aimed at the students of Wuhan University's "Project of Cultivating Millions of Young Marxists." Relying on the League School, we should give prominence to political education and cultivate about 10,000 outstanding League members with strong advanced nature; rely on the Future Academy, give prominence to political training, and cultivate about a thousand red and professional student backbones; unite with marxist colleges, give prominence to political forging, and cultivate about a hundred staunch young Marxists... Since 2008, Wuhan University has vigorously promoted the "Qingma Project", and a group of young Marxists with strong convictions, ability to work and courage to take responsibility have emerged.

"It is our original intention to let the seeds of Marxism take root in the hearts of students, help them strengthen their belief in serving the people, and teach them the methods of serving the people." Huang Xin, secretary of the Youth League Committee of Wuhan University, introduced that through classroom learning, speculative discussion, visits and research, and practical exercises, the "first classroom" and the "second classroom" were closely integrated, and the school accumulated 12 batches of more than 100,000 students in layered classification.

The reporter learned that in the "Project of Cultivating Hundreds of Millions of Young Marxists", the training class model of "double degree, double tutor, and double classroom" is the first in the country. "Wuhan University allocates 500,000 yuan in special funds every year, and selects 50 students from the first-year undergraduate students of the whole university for a two-year special training. Relying on the advantages of Marxist disciplines, the Marxist College is responsible for theoretical teaching, the School Youth League Committee is responsible for practical teaching, and the school is equipped with theoretical tutors and practical tutors for each student, and students who meet the standards can obtain a second degree in ideological and political education. To strengthen theoretical armament, the trainees should not only systematically study courses such as "Marxist Philosophy" and "Special Topics on the Sinicization of Marxism", but also study special courses such as "Xi Jinping on Governing the Country" and "Value Education and Contemporary Social Ideological Trends". In addition to the classroom, the "Qingma Class" will regularly hold the "Qingma Speculation Meeting" and "Qingma Micro Classroom" to design typical case discussions, theme debates, scene simulations, etc., so that students can build Marxist beliefs in learning and practicing. In terms of practice, in addition to carrying out volunteer service activities on campus and in the surrounding communities on weekends, "Qingma Class" students have a research task every summer, visiting poor areas in the summer of the first year to understand the national conditions and people's conditions, practicing in streets and townships in the summer of the sophomore year, and carrying out investigation and research in combination with the second dissertation in the summer of the third year.

"Where the motherland and the people need it, it is our practical classroom." Zhao Guangchao, a student of the second phase of the "Qingma Class", walked into Shimenkan Township, Weining Yi Hui and Miao Autonomous County, Guizhou Province, and while supporting teaching, became a local "poverty alleviation night school" teacher to help farmers get rid of poverty and become rich. "When the motherland and the people need it, we must stand up and stand on top." Su Jiaye, a student of the fourth phase of the "Qingma Class", mobilized thousands of wuhan university volunteers during the epidemic prevention and control period to provide more than 30,000 hours of online psychological counseling and academic counseling for the children of 641 medical staff...

As of June this year, four sessions of the "Qingma Class" students have completed, and the proportion of party members among them is as high as 95.45%. Nowadays, in Wuhan University, the educational atmosphere of "everyone knows Qingma, everyone cares about Qingma, and everyone strives to join Qingma" is taking shape, and the effect of "cultivating a group of backbones and driving a group of students" is becoming increasingly apparent. On the basis of running the "Qingma Class" for undergraduate students, the "Qingma Class" for graduate students and the "Qingma Class" for medical personnel with young medical personnel as the main body have also been opened one after another.

For several years, Han Jin, secretary of the party committee of Wuhan University, has insisted on teaching the first lesson to the students of the "Qingma Class". "Wuhan University is one of the earliest universities in China to study and disseminate Marxism, and is a socialist university. To educate people for the party and the country, it is necessary to teach students the basic theories, stands, viewpoints, and methods of Marxism, and truly cultivate a large number of young Marxists who can shoulder the heavy responsibilities of the times through more systematic and in-depth training methods and through practical training at the grass-roots level, in the rural areas, and in key fields and industries.
