Tirana, 29 Oct (Xinhua) -- On 29 October local time, Albanian President Mehta met with State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Tirana.
Meta asked Wang Yi to convey sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping. He said that The friendship between Afghanistan and China has a long history and that the people of the two countries have a good feeling for each other. The Afghan side is proud to have supported China's restoration of its legitimate seat in the United Nations, and will never forget the help it provided to Afghanistan in its economic development and modernization process. China has made great progress, and at the same time has always adhered to the principle of equality between large and small countries in international relations, winning widespread support and respect. The Arab side looks forward to continuing to support each other with the Chinese side, expanding pragmatic cooperation in various fields, strengthening communication and coordination on multilateral affairs, supporting and encouraging the young generation of the two countries to enhance mutual understanding, and continuously injecting new impetus into the development of Arab-Chinese relations.
Wang Yi conveyed President Xi Jinping's cordial greetings to Mehta. Wang Yi said: 50 years ago, with the support of the international community, including Albania, China successfully restored its legitimate seat in the United Nations, which was a victory for justice, a victory for the peoples of all countries, and a victory for the purposes and principles of the UN Charter. Sino-Arab friendship is the common memory of both sides, upholding justice is the common stand of both sides, and deepening cooperation is the common aspiration of both sides. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Arab side to jointly build the "Belt and Road" with high quality, strengthen people-to-people, educational and youth exchanges, inherit and carry forward the fine tradition of friendship between the two countries, and constantly create new bright prospects for China-Arab relations.
The two sides said they would strive to tap the potential of cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, and tourism. Wang Yi said that China is willing to expand the export of high-quality products to China and encourage Chinese enterprises to invest in Afghanistan.
During his visit to Afghanistan, Wang Yi also met separately with Albanian Prime Minister Hama and held talks with Afghan Foreign Minister Zarqa.
