Wang Yi held talks with the Albanian foreign minister: He always remembered the just deeds of the Albanian side in those years

Beijing, 30 Oct (China News Service) -- On 29 October local time, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with Albanian Foreign Minister Zachka in Tirana.

This marks the return of China, which accounts for a quarter of the world's population, to the international family, and also makes the United Nations truly the most universal, representative and authoritative international organization. Since then, the one-China principle has become the broad consensus of the international community and the basic norm governing international relations. China is a country that pays attention to righteousness, and we have always kept in mind the just deeds of the Arab side in those years. China is also a country that attaches great importance to tradition, and we are willing to make the traditional friendship between China and Arab countries continue to be carried forward in the new historical period.

She said that she is very pleased to receive the Foreign Minister's visit to Afghanistan in this important year to jointly commemorate this historical event of great significance. Albania always adheres to the one-China principle, respects China's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and abides by the basic norms governing international relations without interfering in internal affairs. China is an important and special partner of Albania, and thanks China for its selfless help to Afghanistan's economic and social development for a long time, and thanks China for its strong support for Afghanistan's earthquake relief and fight against the epidemic. Arab-Chinese relations have maintained a good momentum of development, and China has become the third largest trading partner of Afghanistan. The Afghan side is willing to make joint efforts with the Chinese side to strengthen high-level exchanges, cultivate new growth points of cooperation, and promote new development of Arab-Chinese relations.

The two sides exchanged views on jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative and China-CEEC cooperation. Wang Yi said that the "Belt and Road" initiative adheres to the principle of consultation, co-construction and sharing, the concept of openness, integrity and green, and the goal of sustainable benefiting people's livelihood with high standards, and has become an important platform for international cooperation. China-CEE cooperation is an integral part of China-EU relations and a necessary complement to China-EU cooperation. The Chinese side appreciates the Arab side's active participation in jointly building the "Belt and Road" and China-Central and Eastern European cooperation, and is willing to work with the Arab side to promote cooperation to better benefit the people of both sides. Zachka said that the Afghan side positively evaluated the important role of the "Belt and Road" initiative and China-CEEC cooperation in Afghanistan's economic development, and is willing to work with China to tap the potential and promote bilateral and multilateral cooperation to achieve new results.

The two sides agreed to deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields such as anti-epidemic, humanities, localities, education and tourism. Wang Yi said that China has always fulfilled its commitment to vaccines as a global public good, and has provided more than 1.6 billion doses of vaccines to the world, and more than 120 countries have approved the use of Chinese vaccines. China is willing to take the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the CDCs of the two countries as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation in vaccine and drug research and development to better safeguard the lives and health of the two peoples.

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern. Wang Yi congratulated Albania on its assumption of a non-permanent member of the Security Council from 2022 to 2023 and is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with the Afghan side in the Security Council to promote peace and security and safeguard fairness and justice. Wang Yi said that China has always advocated equality for all countries, large and small, and does not agree that any country can be superior to others. President Xi Jinping stressed that international rules should be jointly formulated and observed by UN member states, not by individual countries, and there should be no exceptions. China is willing to work with The Afghan side to safeguard the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, safeguard the international system with the UN at its core and the international order based on international law, and practice genuine multilateralism.
