"EMP New Heart Language 01" Huang Yi: Open your eyes and look at the industry from a better position

author:Shenzhen International Philanthropy College

One of the most urgent and important matters in the construction of China's public welfare industry is to solve the problem of knowledge production and professional talent training. This professional growth is crucial to changing the industry ecology of China's public welfare.

After experiencing the baptism of the epidemic, another group of students full of public welfare feelings will join the study of the 15th phase of the International Philanthropy Management EMP of Shenzhen International Philanthropy College at this difficult and hopeful moment, and devote themselves to the wave of China's public welfare undertakings. The new students come from 15 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions across the country, distributed in 24 cities; nearly half of them are from the business field, and more than half are from the public welfare industry.

For everyone who joins, when the public good becomes a state of pursuit of life, such a state for everyone's career and life, can be like Socrates said, "a scrutinized life."

"Open your eyes and look at the industry in a better position"

——Huang Yi, Secretary-General of Beijing Geyou Public Welfare Aid Foundation

In 2015, by chance, I came into contact with the Beijing Geyou Public Welfare Aid Foundation and went to the mountains of Guizhou as a volunteer to carry out volunteer activities. Since then, I have slowly begun to understand the state of education in the southwestern mountains and the needs of educators.

The original intention of participating in public welfare is actually very simple, that is, I feel that what Geyou Foundation does in the field of education and public welfare is real and really needed by the local people. People who have been able to take root in education for a long time in remote areas are themselves worthy of respect, and they are proud to do something for this group. The experience of volunteers made me feel that there is a lot to be done in the field of public welfare. In 2017, I gave up my original job and joined the Geyou Foundation as a full-time person, responsible for the foundation's fundraising and external cooperation.

Geyou Foundation was born in the Gobi Challenge of Xuanzang Road Business School, a platform for entrepreneurial cultural events, and its founders, directors, volunteers and donors are all outstanding representatives in their respective fields. In the process of communicating with the Business School and Geyou, we feel more and more the enthusiasm of this group for public welfare and are eager to give back to the society.

As the Secretary-General of Geyou Foundation, I hope to build Geyou Foundation into a platform foundation serving business schools and entrepreneurs, provide professional public welfare consulting services for business schools, and establish a charitable fund management platform organized by alumni organizations of business schools to better give back to the society with this group. But on the way forward, I think my vision is still relatively narrow. After seeing the setting of the EMP course of Shenzhen International Philanthropy College, I felt that learning would enable me to continuously broaden my horizons, improve my management level, and learn more about the new trends and industry dynamics in the field of public welfare. You can stand in a higher position to look at this industry.

Choosing to enroll in EMP of Shenzhen International Philanthropy College is to learn more systematic and professional management knowledge of non-profit organizations, and apply it to the organization where they are located, so that the organization has more vitality and inheritance value, let more people pay attention to our organization, and enhance the influence of our organization on a global scale.
