The 11th National Paralympic Games and the 8th Special Olympics Closed More than 36 world records set 179 national records

On the evening of October 29, the closing ceremony of the 11th Paralympic Games of the People's Republic of China and the 8th Special Olympics Games (hereinafter referred to as the Special Olympics) was held at the Xi'an Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium in Shaanxi Province.

At the closing ceremony, the handover ceremony of the flag of the Paralympic Games and the Special Olympics was held. In 2025, the 12th National Paralympic Games and the 9th Special Olympics will be held in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

The theme of the closing ceremony was "Hand in Hand", which was divided into the overture "Cheers of Love", the first chapter "Praise for You", the second chapter "True Love Eternity", and the third chapter "Building a Dream Future".

A total of 47 events were set up in this Special Olympics, including 38 Paralympic Games and 9 Special Olympics, with a total of 4,484 athletes from 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, as well as 35 delegations from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region, who exceeded 36 world records and set 179 national records in shooting, archery, swimming and other events.
