Thailand recently arrested 36 illegal immigrants of Myanmar nationals

On June 6, according to local media reports in Thailand, at about 20:00 local time on June 5, the Thai side arrested 20 illegal Myanmar immigrants in the Hat Yai area of Songkhla Province, near Malaysia, in southern Thailand. The arrest of illegal immigrants was a joint effort by Thailand's local military, immigration authorities and police.

The Immigration Bureau of Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand, revealed that at 21:00 local time on the same day, the local border guards also arrested 16 people who illegally entered Thailand from Myanmar in rubber plantations near the Myanmar border in Thailand, including 13 men and 3 women.

According to Thai law, these illegal entrants will be deported after prosecution. Those who organize illegal immigration will be prosecuted for trafficking in human beings.

Recently, due to the continuous spread of the third wave of the epidemic in Thailand, Thai border guards have strengthened their efforts to combat smuggling to prevent the further spread of foreign epidemics in Thailand. (Reporter Chen Lincong)
