In 2017, a green shield operation deployed at the national level was launched within the protected area. With the help of the green shield special action, Fujian Tianbaoyan National Nature Reserve, with the determination and courage of "scraping bones to cure poison" and "fierce medicine to remove scabies", opened a knife to the "cancerous tumor", marched towards ecological restoration, and demanded benefits from green development.

Strolling through the Tianbaoyan Nature Reserve is like being in a landscape painting – surrounded by green mountains, birds clinging to each other, and clear rivers flowing through the village and into the distance.
Once upon a time, Tianbaoyan Nature Reserve was a different story: mining plants, fishing and hunting, sand mining, destruction of forests, illegal construction, unlicensed breeding, private construction of barrages, etc. One by one, "cancerous tumors" made the beautiful Tianbao Rock a pain in the hearts of the staff of the reserve and nearby villagers.

Talking about the experience of Yong'an Xiyang Daxi Hydropower Station withdrawing from the sales number, Cai Changtang, director of the Western Management Institute of the Yong'an Tianbaoyan National Nature Reserve Management Bureau in Fujian Province, was deeply touched. He said that the three dams of the power station are located in the experimental area of the protected area, and some of the diversion channels and diversion tunnels are located in the buffer zone, which must be withdrawn from the demolition scope in the protected area. However, the power station is owned by the village collective, and the villagers can receive electricity subsidies from the power station, and if it is demolished, the villagers will have a big opinion. Later, after multi-party communication, the villagers' work was done, and the ecological compensation method was used to solve the problem, and all the villagers' electricity consumption was included in the national rural network transformation project.
The withdrawal of the Xiyang Daxi Hydropower Station from the sales number was supported by the villagers, which is not unique in the Green Shield special operation. Nowadays, the owners who have been stopped have changed their thinking from not daring to destroy nature reserves to not being able to and not wanting to destroy nature reserves.
Ecological restoration, harmonious coexistence between man and nature
"Where the green mountains are white, where the rivers are not clear, we will dance the baton of ecological restoration to wherever they are." Chen Daming said that the problems identified since 2017 have been solved, and now the key is to do a good job in ecological restoration in the protected area.

Yong'an Shangping Township Qingyundong Hydropower Station diversion canal needs to implement ecological discharge flow online monitoring facilities, Tianbaoyan Management Bureau together with relevant departments to complete the upgrading of ecological discharge flow facilities and the installation of discharge flow online devices, access to the provincial hydropower station minimum discharge flow online monitoring platform, and into the Yong'an City river chief system work system, to ensure the normalization of the power station release.
