At 9 a.m. on July 30, the judge of the Criminal Trial Division of the Nanling Court sent the compensation money to the home of the victim, Zhang Nian, who was 87 years old on the bed, expressed his gratitude to the judge in a trembling voice.
On October 8, 2020, defendant Zhang Maomou drove a "Huaihai" brand three-wheeled electric vehicle along the G318 National Highway from north to south. At about 5:30 a.m., when Zhang Mao was driving to a certain place on the G318 National Highway, he collided with Tang XX, a pedestrian walking along the 318 National Highway, causing Tang xxx to be injured and died on the same day after being rescued by the hospital. The accident was determined by the traffic management brigade of the Nanling County Public Security Bureau, and Zhang Mao was fully responsible for the accident.
The judge learned that Tang was the only son of Zhang Nian, who had never been married and had been living with his mother, Zhang Nian. Now after Tang Moumou died, Zhang Nian's only daughter took him home to support him, but the family life was difficult. The perpetrator, Zhang Mao, is also as old as 75 years old, living with his 70-year-old wife, and his family conditions are not good. In order to resolve the contradictions between the two parties as soon as possible and focus on solving the problems of the masses' urgency, difficulty, and anxiety, the judge who undertook the case did not make a judgment, but actively contacted the town, village and traffic police departments to promote mediation with multiple parties, and finally the two sides reached an agreement.
After the case money was in place, the judge handling the case took into account that Zhang Nian was old and physically inconvenient, and promptly sent the compensation money to Zhang Nian's home, which not only facilitated the masses, but also realized the conclusion of the case.
