【Editor's Note】The dance drama "Zhang Qian", based on the historical story of Zhang Qian's envoy to the Western Regions in the Han Dynasty, was jointly created by the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

It was first released on the evening of October 27, 2021 at the Urumqi Cultural Center Grand Theater. The whole play is composed of four acts: "Granting Festivals", "Keeping Festivals", "Passing Festivals" and "Envoys", and through the modern stage art effects of sound, light and electricity, the "Hollow Journey" of Zhang Qian's opening of the Silk Road and The Road of Peace in the Western Regions was brilliantly interpreted, vividly showing the vivid scenes of friendly exchanges, extensive exchanges and deep integration of the people of all peoples. The dance drama "Zhang Qian" bears witness to the historical fact that Xinjiang has been an inseparable part of China's territory since ancient times, and the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang are inseparable members of the big family of the Chinese nation.

In 139 BC, in the second year of the Jianyuan Dynasty of the Western Han Dynasty, Zhang Qian, with the scepter of emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, led a peace mission from Chang'an and embarked on a legendary "journey of chiseling the air".
In the Hexi Corridor, Zhang Qian was intercepted by the Xiongnu king, and in the face of coercion and inducement, he did not lose the Han Festival. He was trapped in the grassland for ten years, bid farewell to the Xiongnu wife, and once again stepped into the vast desert, the only two people left in the Han mission were Zhang Qian and his retinue Gan Father.
Wading into the vast western region, Zhang Qian walked through various city-states with han festivals in hand and embarked on a path of peace. He used the rule of law of Chinese medicine to save people, and the Han style moistened people's hearts. The Western Pole Pegasus and Hu Xuan danced together, and the Han Dynasty made the name of the Western Regions.
On the way back, the Xiongnu king tracked him down, Zhang Qian was intercepted again, and Gan's father and xiongnu wife sacrificed their lives to save them, and they died nine times.
After thirteen years of hardships and hardships, Zhang Qianzhi was like a knotweed, walking firmly on the road of the vast western region, and finally did not fail in his mission. Behind him, the banner of "Bowanghou" was raised high, and the people of the city-states in the western region followed him.
"The messengers look at each other on the road, and the merchants travel endlessly", Zhang Qian's figure walked through the thousand years of the sun and the moon, opening up the ancient Silk Road to the West.
Zhang Qian's "Chiseled Journey" has opened a chapter in history for the Chinese nation! Since the Han Dynasty, the Xinjiang region has officially become part of China's territory. China is a unified multi-ethnic country, and the ethnic groups in Xinjiang are members of the Chinese nation who are linked by blood.

Act 1: The Festival
In the second year of the Jianyuan Dynasty of the Western Han Dynasty (139 BC), Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty responded to the invasion of the Xiongnu Iron Horse, granted Zhang Qian the Scepter, and asked him to lead a hundred peace missions to the Western Regions. The Xiongnu Gan Father became the guide, and Zhang Qian bid farewell to his mother and Chang'an.
In the Hexi Corridor, Zhang Qian's delegation rescued hu Lanfu, a Xiongnu princess who was being pursued by wolves. The Xiongnu king led his troops to attack and intercepted the Han Dynasty mission.
Zhang Qian recruited the Xiongnu Gan Father as a guide, bid farewell to his mother, bid farewell to Chang'an, led a peace mission, and embarked on a vast journey to the western region.
In the vast Gobi, when night struck, Zhang Qian's mission saved the Xiongnu princess from the mouth of the wolves, but unfortunately was captured by the Xiongnu cavalry.
Act II: Observance
In the Xiongnu camp, Zhang Qian was trapped for ten years and married Hulan fu. The Xiongnu king repeatedly threatened and seduced Zhang Qian and broke his Han Festival. However, Zhang Qian's heart did not change, and he took the opportunity to flee the grassland with Gan Father and other emissaries, and the Xiongnu princess received the knife and tearfully hated goodbye.
Act III: Transmission
The Han delegation survived the storm and sacrificed all the way, and only Zhang Qian and Gan Father stepped into the Western Regions.
Zhang Qian traveled all over the city-states, saw all kinds of customs and customs, and also embarked on a path of peace. In the kingdom of Xia Ma, he used Chinese medicine acupuncture to cure the little prince's serious illness. Everyone celebrated, and the West Pole Pegasus and Hu Xuan flew in unison. The Xiongnu king pursued him, and Zhang Qian stepped forward to protect the people of the Western Regions, willing to be taken captive by iron horses.
Act IV: Envoys
Hu Lanfu and Father Gan rescued Zhang Qian by night, but were found by the Xiongnu guards, the arrows rained down, Father Gan raised his staff to lead the pursuing soldiers, while the Xiongnu wife absconded with Zhang Qian on her back, wounded by arrows, and finally fell in the poplar forest. Zhang Qian asked heaven: How many people's sacrifices can be exchanged for a road of peace! All things mourn in unison.
Zhang Qian used the dead branches of the poplar forest as a knuckle stick, wrapped in a robe, and held high, he did not fail in his mission and continued to walk.
Epilogue
On the vast Western Region Road, people were watching and looking back at Zhang Qian, and his figure was forever walking in the millennium sun and moon! Countless banners of "Bowanghou" were erected in the desert, countless envoys, countless people from various city-states in the western region followed Behind Zhang Qian, "The messengers look at each other on the road, and the merchants travel endlessly" The sunshine of peace sprinkled in everyone's heart and sprinkled on the thousand-year-old Silk Road.
