The latest trailer for Saturday Night Live host Pete Davidson's first starring film, The King of Staten Island, is also a semi-autobiography of Pete Davidson, a comedy film that blends the true story of Davidson's loss of his firefighter father in 911, directed by well-known Hollywood comedian and director Judd Apato ("Freaks and Nerds").

The film tells the story of Scott, a man in his twenties, whose father was a firefighter, who died unexpectedly when he was 7 years old, and after which his growth process was inactive, although his dream was to become a tattoo artist, he had nothing to do every day except to hang out with friends and hook up with green plum bamboo horses. Mom's new boyfriend, who is also a firefighter, sparked a series of incidents that forced Scott to regroup and take the first step forward in his life.
Pete Davidson has said he wants to try other new shows or performances as it gets harder to make Saturday Night Live. In February, he launched a stand-up comedy special on Netflix, "Pete Davidson: I'm Still in New York," and he starred in James Gunn's latest film, The New Suicide Squad.

"King of Staten Island" was originally scheduled to be released in theaters on June 19, 2020, but due to the impact of the epidemic, the theater was closed on a large scale, and the producer Universal Pictures decided to directly launch streaming media on June 12. Previously, Universal's film "Trolls 2" broke the window period and went directly online, triggering a boycott from the two major cinema lines in the United States, AMC and Regal, and AMC also clearly stated that it would no longer show any Universal Pictures films in the future. Universal has made no changes or concessions, and "Staten Island Kings" still plans to meet the audience through the online platform.
