According to news reports, Bosman died of illness at home, and he was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, but despite this, he still fought against the disease, shooting movies such as "Black Panther", "Marshall", "Blood Five", "Avengers 3, 4" and so on. The film, based on playwright August Wilson's work of the same name, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, is his posthumous work. According to the family, Bosman has been undergoing surgery and chemotherapy off-set during the filming of the film, and in the statement, the family wrote: "Chadwick is a real fighter, persevering, bringing many favorite movies to the audience, and playing Black Panther is the honor of his career."

In my opinion, this is the best film work of Bosman's life. Legend 42 is somewhat similar to the film Glory Years starring Denzel Washington, which is about baseball player Jackie Robinson. On April 15, 1947, he wore the No. 42 jersey as a starting first baseman before the Brooklyn Dodgers appeared in the game, due to strong social prejudice, black people were not allowed to join major league baseball, so this game is considered one of the most important events in the history of the modern civil rights movement in the United States.
The most memorable scene was when Robinson sat in the dressing room in a dark blue suit with his No. 42 jersey hanging from his back, dressed in white, in stark contrast to his complexion. There was some doubt in his eyes, because he didn't know what he was going to face. In the film, Bosman's performance is not yet mature, but in the eyes of director Brian Helgeland, the tension and uneasiness are very similar to the state of mind of a black athlete who has just entered the league.
Remember a line in Black Panther: In our culture, death is not the end, but the starting point for the next destination. You open your arms and the gods Bast and Sekhmet will lead you to the green steppes where you can run forever. Although Bosman has left us, the spirit of the Black Panther will still be with the world.
