The breeding period of the "macrotunic frog" is generally in July, August, December and January of the following year, during the breeding period, the female "macroharmosa frog" will lay hundreds of eggs at a time, because their eggs are relatively large (the average diameter is about 3.5 mm), it is easy to attract the attention of some predators, so the "macroharmonic frog" will consciously build a nest for the offspring and protect it.
The eggs of the "giant frog" must be laid in the water, and they will choose places away from turbulence and predators to nest. Usually, "giant harmonic frogs" will give priority to the use of naturally formed depressions, and after finding a suitable nesting depression, they will consciously remove the fallen leaves and other debris in the depression, and dig it up when necessary to expand the scale.
If it can't find a naturally formed depression, the "giant harmonic frog" will find a suitable place to dig out a depression by itself, and then complete the subsequent nesting work.
In the process of nesting, "giant harmonic frogs" will often move some large stones to cut off the flow of water, and researchers speculate that the nesting behavior of "giant harmonic frogs" may partly explain why they are so large, after all, the larger "giant frogs" are better at moving heavy objects.
The nests built by the "macrotunic frogs" are usually semi-circular, and when everything is ready, the female "macrosynous frogs" will lay their eggs in the nest, and for about three months thereafter, their offspring will hatch into tadpoles in the nest and gradually grow, while the "macroharmonic frogs" as parents will guard and protect them, even at night.

For humans, "giant harmonic frogs" are easy to catch, although they can escape by jumping, but their endurance is very poor, according to researchers' calculations, "giant harmonic frogs" generally have to rest after 5 to 7 consecutive jumps.
For a long time in the past, the "giant harmonic frog" was regarded by local humans as a source of food, and after learning that the "giant frog" is the largest frog on the earth, more and more people have developed a strong interest in this kind of frog, so the local human catch of the "giant frog" is also increasing. On the other hand, with the activity of humans, the habitat of the "giant harmonic frog" has also been decreasing.
