Recently, in the more than 1,000 acres of jingxi rice fields in Shangzhuang Town, Haidian District, two unmanned aerial vehicles took turns to operate and did professional pest control work, which is the first time that unmanned aerial vehicles have been used in Haidian District to release natural enemies of insects - rice borer red-eyed bees. The Beijing Youth Daily reporter learned that this year, the UAV "flight defense" technology has been applied to Shangzhuang Town, Sujiatuo Town, Hot Spring Town and other places in Haidian District, involving rice, corn, cherries and other crops in Western Beijing.

Jingxi rice is a characteristic crop of Haidian District, and the current planting area is mainly concentrated in Ximafang Village, Dongmafang Village, Changle Village, Yongfengtun Village, Shangzhuang Village and other places in Shangzhuang Town, Haidian District. In order to better carry out the unified prevention and control of rice diseases and insect pests in western Beijing and the prevention and control of green diseases, the Haidian District Agricultural Science Research Institute applied the plant protection drone for the first time to release the natural enemy insect rice borer red-eyed bee, and completed the unified prevention and control of rice diseases and insect pests in 1600 acres of land in Shangzhuang Town in only 16 hours.
According to Li Gangping, a staff member at the scene, the rice borer red-eyed bee is a parasitic bee that lays eggs on the eggs of pests in the field, and the eggs of pests cannot hatch, thereby reducing the density of diseases and insect pests. In addition to releasing natural enemies and insects with drones, the Haidian District Agricultural Science Research Institute also sprayed biological agents through drones to prevent blight, aspergillosis and rice blast, and at the same time induce rice to quickly develop systematic resistance and reduce pathogenic bacteria infection.
Zheng He, director of the Institute of Agricultural Sciences of Haidian District, introduced that Haidian District is making every effort to promote the construction of "Agricultural Zhongguancun", integrating the resources of all parties, and scientific and technological empowerment is the development direction of Haidian agriculture in the future. In the future, plant protection robots and picking robots are expected to be put into use, and gradually improve the intelligent level of Haidian agriculture. At the same time, Haidian District will gradually establish a brand effect of agricultural products to achieve high quality and good prices.
