Crystal Palace owns Arsenal, but Christian Benteke regretfully leaves

author:Brilliant

It was a night that required tests of the durability of the limbs as well as Arsenal's small recovery strength. It seems that not so long ago, they fell into that terrible slump, unable to win or even seemingly a goal.

Statistics show they have scored just four goals in 10 Premier League games until they were beaten at Everton on Dec 19, but at kick-off they can reflect on eight of their first three – all of which are wins. Arsenal 0-0 Crystal Palace: Premier League - happened

Arsenal as Arsenal, they played a cautious optimism appropriately by playing a one-point draw, and in the case of plummeting temperatures, the truth is that it could be worse for them. Crystal Palace hit the crossbar with defender James Tomkins, and if Christian Benteke can find the edge in front of goal, visitors will be rewarded with energy, discipline and energy.

It's hard to remember arsenal extending palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, whose frustration was summed up when they tried to fight back with substitute Eddie Nketiah, only for Joel Ward to foul.

The incident happened directly in front of Mikel Arteta, and when the ball spun clearly, Arsenal's manager rushed to the pitch and slid towards the nearby Andros Townsend. There was contact between him and Townsend — as we've had to say lately — and perhaps arteta was lucky that the palace winger wore a big smile instead of a frown and didn't try to make any changes.

Palace manager Roy Hodgson said he hoped the match would help his players a lot with confidence to move forward and that his 4-4-2 formation was adventurous, with Wilfried Zaha attacking alongside Benteke. That being said, Zaha's roaming license has been announced, and the striker has been involved in many of his team's best practices.

Palace performed well in the first half but unfortunately did not lead at the end. Eberechi Eze slid to the left – his pace was staggering, combined with his calm pace, while Benteke's teaming up was outstanding and selfless.

Arsenal didn't dare give Zaha much room, and the best moment of the first half was when he swapped passes with Benteke and cut into two Arsenal challenges in the box. He couldn't get rid of a third of what Granit Xhaka had put in. Arsenal's midfielders made a series of important one-on-one tackles and he was the best performer in the team.

It must be said that there is not much competition. Emile Smith Rowe faded after a few flashes in the first half, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette or Bukayo Saka played very little.

Arsenal hired Premier League's Richard Garlick to run the football business

Palace believed they were leading in the 39th minute, and when Tomkins overtook Rob Holding to meet Eze's free-kick, the header had to be removed from the woodwork, and a few minutes later, Tyrick Mitchell crossed Benteke from the left, whose header flew swiftly out of Bernd Leno. Palace can also point to the moment in the 29th minute when Mitchell cut the ball back and Benteke leaned back to lift the waste.

When Smith Rowe was released from the right by Lhazette, Arsenal accelerated the pulse only once before the break. But with the arrival of Lacazette's shaping shot, Héctor Bellerín came here to push the ball away from him, especially when there was no one. It's a great example of Arsenal's lack of cohesion. They sometimes hold some decent positions, but usually do not take last action. Aubameyang cut in from the left and crashed directly into Guatata, who jumped high into the air before making a second attempt, while Saka gently fired at the goalkeeper. Arsenal are missing sparks - Arteta said there was a lack of freshness due to playing a lot of games - it was clear they missed out on in-form left-back Kieran Tierney, who had to withdraw from the calf tight at the last minute. His evacuation made Arteta's plan impossible. Tierney will face a scan on Friday. In the second half, Arsenal began a higher tempo, with Bellerin and Tierney's successor, Ainslie Maitland Nils pressing high from the back post. They both have goals. Bellelin had a greater chance, but he lashed out. Ateta replaced Maitland-Niles with Nicolas Pépé, a turn from right-wing to left-back for Saka, which illustrates the manager's determination to win. But this also caused the palace to flicker on the counter, and Xhaka cut a Zaha cross aimed at Bentek. Judging from the corner that followed, Benteke should have done better with a header.
