Picture 2 shows Jean Delville: The Fallen Idol. Symbolism opposed the secular worldview, scientific theories, and realist aesthetics that prevailed in the 19th century; Embraces a spiritual, imaginative and stylized aesthetic. In this context, some young people began to use symbolist concepts to create art, one of the most famous of which was the Salon of the Rosicrucian, and in the spring of 1892, the French symbolist novelist Joséphin Péladan (1859–1918), launched the first Salon of the Rosicrucian in Paris, aiming to promote art, especially art that gives people a deep feeling, as a way to oppose the prevailing materialist ideas in Europe. That is, the popular art of focusing on real life at that time. The name derives from peradan's cult of rosicrucianism, which demonstrates the art of mystical symbolism, especially the alchemical, spiritual form pursued by the eccentric Peradan. Although few people now know about this salon, it was known to everyone at the end of the 19th century. For the artists, these salons are an international crossroads, some conservative and some radical, yet most try to emphasize the spiritual dimension of art, trying to evoke the imaginative dimension of the viewer's mind.

These transcendent ambitions were also inherited by the pioneers of abstract painting in the early 20th century. The salon reached a worldwide reach and played an important role, bringing together works by artists from Belgium, Finland, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland. Benefit from extensive research on the artworks on the earliest exhibitions, which include paintings, paintings on paper, and sculptures, among which the artists Anthony Bürdele, Jean Derville, Charles Feliger, Fernan klopf, Jan Tolop, Max Klinger, Hodler and many more.
