The Netherlands International Nature Photography Annual Competition, NPOTY, has been announced. The title of nature photographer in 2019 was won by Hungarian photographer Casaba d'Arrezzi. His photograph is of two rabbits jumping in the air while competing for food. The judges said the photos had "air, timing, light, perfect clarity and composition.". NPOTY Jury Chair Keith Wilson said: "This photo shows that you don't have to photograph very special animals... As long as you are attentive enough, you can take great photos on the doorstep of your home. D'Adrezi also won the black and white category and won a prize of €3,000 for the championship overall.

This year's competition photos were selected from more than 14,000 images submitted by photographers from 73 different countries representing some of the best landscape and wildlife photography from around the world. This is the youth champion "Symphony N+5". Photo by Giacomo Redaelli
The competition began in 2016 and is hosted by the Dialogue Nature Festival, an event of the netherlands' annual Dialogue Nature Photography Festival. Each year, the competition selects 11 awards, including birds, mammals, plants and fungi, and landscapes, and one of them was named "Nature Photographer of the Year" that year.
