On the morning of October 10, when Xu Lida and Che Zheren, police officers of the Xinjie Police Station of the Kuancheng Branch of the Changchun Municipal Public Security Bureau, patrolled near Tuanshan Street, they found a bird with injured wings in the grass on the side of the road, with a strange appearance, a pointed and long mouth, and gorgeous feathers, not like ordinary birds, because they could not fly, and from time to time they made a low call. In order to ensure proper rescue and avoid secondary injuries, the police immediately found cartons, foam boards, water and weeds, and carefully took them back to the police station for first care.
Subsequently, the police contacted the Jilin Provincial Wildlife Rescue and Breeding Center, and after the staff rushed to the scene for identification, it was confirmed that the bird was named "purple-backed reed (jiān)" and belonged to the national three protected animals. The police then handed it over to the animal rescue center and released it back into nature after the wings were treated and recovered.
The police hereby remind the general public that it is everyone's responsibility to protect wild animals, and if you encounter injured wild animals, please contact the forestry department or animal protection agency in time to properly rescue them.
