The goldfish that originated in China is one of the three major ornamental fish in the world, but have you ever seen what a goldfish of 15,000 yuan looks like?
In Daxu Town, Baohe District, Hu Zhengyu, who loves to raise goldfish, has cultivated ordinary goldfish into fine products, and the highest one has been auctioned for 15,000 yuan. In his fish farm, there are more than 10 kinds of goldfish species, nearly 100,000 goldfish are bred annually, with an annual output value of nearly one million yuan, and drive surrounding farmers to breed ornamental fish and sell them throughout the country. Today, there are more than a dozen ornamental fish farmers in Daxu Town, with an annual output value of more than 10 million yuan.

At present, it is the breeding period of ornamental fish, walking into the Jiejie ornamental fish breeding base located in Jinge Road, Motan Village, Daxu Town, dozens of fish ponds, pots of fish eggs are quietly hatching. "This pot of fish eggs is not out today, it will definitely be out tomorrow." Hu Zhengyu picked up a pot of fish eggs from the pool and carefully observed it, and exchanged farming experience with the surrounding goldfish farmers.
"This is the tiger's head, a breed that is about to be lost, this is a five-flowered flag blister, it is a unique breed in Anhui, this is a butterfly tail, this is a cat and lion..." Speaking of the goldfish he cultivated, Hu Zhengyu talked about it like a number of family treasures.
As an ornamental fish, the cultivation of goldfish pays attention to the color, the same fish, the pattern and color are not the same, the value is not the same. Through self-study on the Internet and constantly exploring breeding technology, the goldfish cultivated by Hu Zhengyu has won many awards in competitions across the country in recent years.
Won the championship at the Anhui Fish Exhibition for three consecutive years;
In the 2019-2020 4th China (Zibo) Goldfish Competition and Goldfish Industry Summit Forum, he won the champion of the butterfly tail group, the runner-up of the cat and lion group, and the third place of the Thai lion group
Won the gold medal in the 8th China Hefei Aquarium Exhibition and "Yufeng Flower City Cup" Ornamental Fish Competition in 2020...
"When I was a child, I often went to my uncle's house and found that the goldfish in his yard were very beautiful, and I liked goldfish ever since." The ornamental fish of my uncle's family as a child has become a lingering memory of this "post-80s".
After graduating from college, as a hobby, Hu Zhengyu thought of raising a few goldfish at home, so he went to Yufeng Flower Market to look for a few laps, but he did not find the beautiful fish he remembered when he was a child. So he came up with the idea of breeding ornamental fish himself.
He began to look up information on the Internet and teach himself the breeding and breeding techniques of goldfish. After his own exploration, the first fish eggs he bred were finally successfully hatched in the pool of his bathroom. This hair was out of control, and then he found a fish pond for goldfish breeding. With the continuous maturity of technology, in 2015, he rented nearly 6,000 square meters of land in Motan Village, Daxu Town, and continued to engage in goldfish breeding.
The biggest threat to goldfish farming is parasites and bacteria. In the second year of coming to Daxu, Hu Zhengyu's goldfish farmed died in a large area, losing nearly 60% of the fish, but Hu Zhengyu was not intimidated by the difficulties. Through self-study and under the guidance and help of the animal husbandry and fishery experts of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences, he gradually found ways and drugs for disease prevention and treatment.
With the maturity of technology and the expansion of scale, Hu Zhengyu also did not hesitate to share and exchange breeding and disease prevention technologies with other farmers around him, and also actively provided technology and seedlings to later farmers. "The gathering of the ornamental fish farming industry is beneficial to the development of the industry." Driven by Hu Zhengyu and other farmers, ornamental fish farmers in Daxu Town have developed from two or three at the beginning to more than a dozen today.
After discovering the gradual rise of online shopping and live streaming, Hu Zhengyu also moved the sales of goldfish from offline to online, selling goldfish through online shopping and live broadcasting. Compared with the previous offline wholesale, sales increased by 30%-40%.
"The goldfish has the auspicious meaning of being full of gold and jade and having more than one year. With the improvement of people's living standards, more and more families are now starting to raise goldfish. Hu Zhengyu is full of confidence in the development of the goldfish industry, and he also plans to combine his ornamental fish farming with rural tourism in Daxu to better promote the development of the surrounding goldfish farming industry.
