He shocked the runners on the field at the time, shocked the running circle, shocked the sports circle.
Because of him, Hangzhou at that time named a road leading to the athletic field "Changchun Road" to commemorate and inspire Liu Changchun.
After the September 18 Incident in 1931, Japan took control of Northeast China and established the puppet state of Manchukuo.

On March 25, 1983, Liu Changchun died at the age of 74.
Before Liu Changchun died, he had two regrets, one was that he did not see Chinese win the gold medal at the Olympic Games, and the other was that China could host the Olympic Games.
The year after Liu Changchun's death, Xu Haifeng won the gold medal in the men's self-propelled gun shooting competition at the 23rd Olympic Games in Los Angeles, becoming the first Chinese athlete to win the Olympic Championship.
In 2008, China also held the Olympic Games, fulfilling Liu Changchun's regrets that year.
