Yangzi Evening News Network October 19 (reporter Guo Yipeng correspondent Yu Gongxuan Yang Hanshi) Recently, the Banqiao Police Station of the Nanjing Yuhuatai Public Security Substation received an alarm from Mr. Wang, a citizen, saying that an injured bird was found by the river and suspected of protecting animals.

After receiving the police, the police quickly rushed to the scene and found the policeman, Mr. Wang. Mr. Wang said that he was walking by the river, suddenly found that there was movement in the water, and when he approached to see if it was a bird struggling in the water, he could not fly for half a day. So when Mr. Wang fished the bird out of the water and put it on the side of the road, he found that the bird had been injured. Because of the bird's special appearance, he speculated that it might be a protective animal, so he called the police for help. At this time, it was late, the injured bird was soaked and shrunk into a clump, and the police decided to put it into a cardboard box and take it back to the police station. After returning to the station, the police first fed some food to the injured birds, and then contacted the experts of the Red Mountain Forest Zoo. Confirmed by animal experts, the bird's scientific name is Night Heron, which belongs to the national second-level protected animal. In order to allow the night heron to receive professional treatment, the police drove it to the Red Mountain Forest Zoo. Zoo staff say that when the night heron is restored to health, it will be released back into nature.
Police tip: When encountering wild animals with normal activities, you should keep the necessary distance from them and do not hurt or catch them. If you find a wild animal injured or trapped, please contact the relevant departments in time to properly dispose of it and rescue it.
