Spread out the map of the world, draw a line along the 27th parallel north latitude, through the Indian Thar Desert, Iran, the Persian Gulf, Saudi Arabia, Morocco... It seems that there is always no way to avoid the desert.
Until crossing the vast Pacific Ocean to Fujian, China, a mountain range towering over east China, and a touch of green comes into view, which is the Wuyi Mountains.

It is like a natural barrier, blocking and weakening the cold air from Siberia in winter, lifting and intercepting the monsoon wind blowing from the Pacific Ocean in summer, forming a warm and humid monsoon climate in the central subtropics, and also creating the most complete, typical and largest preserved central subtropical native forest ecosystem at the same latitude of the earth - Wuyishan National Park (pilot).
The Mesozoic crustal movement laid the basic skeleton of the Wuyi mountainous landform. Especially in the late Mesozoic Period, volcanic eruptions caused large-scale granite intrusions, producing a rich volcanic mechanism that became a typical tectonic feature of the Pacific Rim in eastern Asia, and the red gravel rocks of the late Cretaceous also became the main body of the Danxia landform.
Due to the control of the fault structure, Wuyi Mountain has developed tortuous streams and columnar, conical and other Danxia landforms, the Jiuqu Creek where mountains and rivers are integrated, the graceful Jade Girl Peak, the tall and strange Dawang Peak and the realistic image of the Eagle's Mouth Rock... There are many beautiful mountain peaks, rocky ravines, river valleys and waterfalls, which together constitute the picturesque beauty of Wuyi Mountain.
The vegetation vertical band spectrum of Wuyi Mountain includes all vegetation types in central subtropical China, as well as the germplasm gene bank of wild animals and plants in central subtropical, the world-famous biological model specimen production area, and one of the key areas of global biodiversity conservation in southeast China.
Southern hemlock, Wuyishan scaly fern, Chong'an sage, Chong'an oblique scaled snake, hanging pier crow, as well as the newly discovered generalized horned toad genus New species of rain god horned toad... Wuyi Mountain is like the magic pocket of Doraemon, and with a casual cut, countless spirits of nature may jump into your eyes.
For more than 100 years, Chinese and foreign biologists have collected more than 1,000 specimens of new biological species here, and 74 of the 558 vertebrate species recorded are unique to China, which is enough to prove its significance in animal taxonomy and the value of biodiversity conservation.
Due to the small impact of Quaternary glaciers, coupled with complex geological landforms and microclimate conditions, Wuyishan has become a "paradise" for many ancient and relict taxa.
Many rare species such as capshobs, bell calyxes, yellow-bellied horned pheasants, Sumen antelopes, golden-spotted beaked butterflies and many other rare species thrive here, as if in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", Newt's suitcase, isolated and leisurely.
There are 114 species of various protected plants recorded here, including 24 species of national key protected plants, 28 species listed in the Red Book of Chinese Plants, and 67 species of wild animals recorded, including 67 species of national protected species and 64 species threatened by the Red List of Biodiversity of China. They are an extremely precious natural heritage and a historical witness to human activities and environmental change.
The magic of creation has made this thriving species paradise. How can this treasure trove of species, which has lasted for thousands of years, be perpetuated and become a model of harmonious coexistence between man and nature?
