This year is really the "Year of Animals", taking China as an example, since 2021, large predators such as jackals, tigers and leopards have appeared frequently in many parts of the country, such as the "Tiger Mother" in the Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park with the "Tiger Baby" patrol territory, the North China Leopard in the Qinyuan Huapo Scenic Area in Shanxi Province, and the 14 Jackals in the Qilian Mountain National Park foraging in the alpine meadows.

In terms of the reproduction of wild animal and plant populations, with the strengthening of China's ecological environmental protection and the improvement of the national ecological concept of "green water and green mountains are golden mountains and silver mountains", the populations of rare wild animals and plants such as giant pandas, Asian elephants, Siberian tigers, North China leopards, crested ibises, Tibetan antelopes, juniper, and lettuce have increased restoratively, and many places have also seen the phenomenon of wild boar flooding, and recently Yunnan in the southwest region has successively appeared "big lizard five-clawed golden dragon" round-nosed monitor lizard, "spotted fishing lang" kingfisher family of spotted fish dogs, Indian bison cubs (also known as Asian bison cubs or white-limbed bison cubs) show that China's ecological environment is indeed getting better and better.
Of course, the most eye-catching is the wild Asian elephant herds that migrate north, from domestic fire to foreign countries, their "cute state", "solidarity and mutual assistance" scene "circle powder" countless, and China has taken strict protective measures to ensure the safe migration of elephants and resolve the "human-elephant contradiction" has been praised by netizens at home and abroad.
Since the middle of April this year, the northward migration of elephants has been migrating for nearly 4 months, passing through the three prefectures of Yuxi, Honghe and Kunming in Yunnan, after a roundabout journey of more than 1,300 kilometers, plus a male sub-adult elephant who was "repatriated" on July 7, all 15 Asian elephants have turned around and returned south, and have passed through the old 213 National Highway Yuanjiang Bridge, getting closer and closer to the "hometown".
And when it comes to large carnivores, we have to talk about the "king of the forest" tiger. In China, tigers are rare and endangered species, belonging to the national first-class protected animals, there are four tiger species, namely the Siberian tiger (distributed in the northeast region), the South China tiger, the Indochina tiger (a small distribution in the primary forest of the southwest border), and the Bengal tiger (a small distribution in the Metuo area of Tibet).
Among them, the South China tiger is a subspecies of tiger endemic to China and is distributed only in China. However, because the South China tiger has frequently injured people, it has been hunted and killed as a pest in large numbers, and is currently considered to be "extinct in the wild", which means that if you want to see the South China tiger, you can only see the South China tiger in some zoos or South China tiger breeding bases.
And because of the existing 110 South China tigers scattered in zoos around the world, they are the descendants of 6 tigers captured in the 1950s and 1970s, the biggest problem is that the genetic degradation is extremely serious because the population is very small, which means that the number of inbreeding is increasing, and the offspring of captivity and breeding are like "sick cats" Who have lost a lot of wildness, which brings great difficulties to the breeding and protection of South China tigers.
In order to minimize the problem of breed degradation caused by inbreeding (backcrossing) of The South China tiger, scientists have established a family tree specifically for the South China tiger. However, because there are too few individuals and very limited genetic diversity, it is impossible to fundamentally avoid inbreeding, but the survival rate is relatively improved under artificial intervention.
However, the same "tiger", whether it is the Siberian tiger or the "circled" South China tiger, China is trying to protect it, while the underground tiger trade in neighboring Vietnam is very rampant.
In Vietnam, every gram of tiger bone can be sold for 180,000 Vietnamese dong (about 51.174 yuan), and the whole body of the tiger is considered to be a "treasure", tiger bone soaking wine, tiger skin can be used as a coat, tiger whip is a tonic and so on.
According to the Global Times quoted Vietnamese media reports, on the afternoon of August 5, local time, the Vietnamese police raided a house in the north-central province of Nghe An, and in the basement of this house they found 17 endangered tigers in captivity in iron cages, weighing more than 200 kilograms (400 kilograms), the heaviest of which was 260 kilograms, and these tigers were illegally raised by a woman.
Subsequently, the Vietnamese police rescued all 17 tigers and sent them to the ecological reserve for breeding, but it was not long before 8 tigers died due to excessive weakness, and the other 9 appeared in different situations, but under the careful care of the keepers, there was no major problem.
It is also reported that the woman decided to raise tigers after hearing about the "medicinal effects" of tiger bones, and she bought these small tigers from Laos and secretly raised them in the basement of her home, and her confession was also to make money from selling tiger bones and tiger skins.
According to the tiger's "purchase place", the 17 tigers should be Indochinese tigers, and according to the average weight of adult male Indochina tigers of 185 kilograms, the woman did not spend less time and energy raising these tigers. According to Vietnam's Animal Protection Law, illegally raising more than 12 animals can be punishable by up to 15 years in prison, and this woman illegally raises 17 tigers at once.
Write at the end
There is no harm in buying and selling, rather than worrying about relying on "wild animals" to make up for it and risking the "wild animal" trade, it is better to keep your mouth shut and open your legs, and adjust your body through a reasonable diet and regular work and rest time.
And the top carnivores like tigers, because their food chain is very complex and the sense of territory is very strong, once the population is sharply reduced or the habitat is destroyed, it is extremely difficult to recover, and countries in the protection of wild animals continue to increase their efforts, but in many countries poaching, private breeding and other phenomena are repeatedly prohibited, so the protection of wild animals is still a long way to go.
