Ma Wan, date of birth and death unknown, painter of the late Yuan Dynasty. Yuwen Bi (宇文璧), courtesy name Lu Dusheng (鲁钝生), was a native of Guanyuan (杖園人), the prefect of Fuzhou (1370) in the Qin Dynasty. Good at painting landscapes, far from Dong Yuan, JuRan and Mi Fu, close to the teacher Huang Gongwang, the painting method is mostly shallow, the pen and ink are clear, and the composition is dense. Quite acclaim. He died around the time of Ming Hongwu.
Ma Wan was good at poetry, especially in ancient poetry, good at calligraphy and painting, and was known as the "Three Absolutes" at that time. His poetic works include the Collection of Irrigation Gardens. His works include the volume "Spring Mountain Qingji Map" in the twenty-sixth year of Zhizheng (1366), which is now in the National Palace Museum in Taipei; the axis of "Poetic Intention of The Clouds" in the ninth year of Zhizheng (1349), which is in shanghai; the "Map of Xuegang Duguan" in the National Palace Museum; the album of "Red Apricot Map of Qingshan", which is in Tianjin Art Museum; the "Summer Mountain Desire and Rain Map" in osaka, Japan; and the axis of "Journey to Xishan", which is collected by Mr. Gao Juhan of the United States, Jing Yuanzhai.
